Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ravaan’ though is the most-awaited film this year for the multi-folded reasons but has also been facing protest from certain groups hell-bent on boycotting the film.

According to the team, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the film are playing contemporary characters, which are modern. Former is essaying the title role of Raavan but actually his on screen name is Beera and Raavan is only his nickname.

And Aishwarya herself disclosed in a recent interview that she does not play Sita in the film. Her role is that of Ragini a modern, independent woman, strong-minded woman who teaches classical dancing to children. And there is no character called Ram in the film as well.
