The most celebrated shaadi of the industry – that of Abhishek Bachchan with Aishwarya Rai – was questioned not by the parents or astrologers but by a self-appointed ‘ex-lover’ who had shared stage with AB’s baby two years earlier.

Jhanvi Kapoor, perhaps after careful calculations of TV cameras outside Bachchan’s Prateeksha, slashed her wrist to begin the tamasha.

After first-aid treatment, she unleashed a string of pure attention-grabbing statements such as ‘Aishwarya stole Abhishek from me’ and that he had promised to marry her and disclose their relationship at the Filmfare awards night.

The Bachchans remained mum and she herself slipped into oblivion, but the media got much craved-for masala to an otherwise private affair.
