Vivek Oberoi who had a fantastic launch to his career with films like Company, Road and Saathiyaa, lost his sheen after a much-talked-about scandal. Just to refresh the ageing minds, we must remind you how he snatched Aishwarya Rai from the arms of the macho Salman Khan as Vivek and Ash fell for each other in the sets of ‘Kyun, Ho Gaya Na’. Salman who was dating Ash felt betrayed and reportedly called Vivek 41 times in his cell one night and challenged him for a duel. Vivek, who at the time was brimming with self-confidence, summoned the press and exposed Salman’s antics to the whole world.

Aishwarya is now happily married to Abhishek but the rift between Salman & Vivek continues. This has apparently affected Vivek’s career and all his attempts to patch up have fallen in vain. His filmograph is on a downward trajectory for quite sometime and he has learnt his lesson & stays miles away from controversies. He is fighting hard to revive his career. His latest film ‘Kurbaan’ sank like the Titanic taking down everybody along with it. But his hopes are now pinned on Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Raktacharita’ in which he essays the character of a terrifying goon. He is delighted to be back in the Verma camp and is expected to shock the spectators with a completely new avatar in ‘ Raktacharita’. Even earlier, he had garnered critical acclaim for his evil role and this time, too, he may break the ice with portrayal of the feared dacoit.

Can he rise from the ashes like a phoenix? Time shall tell…
