Previously a sizzling couple but now ignition to disaster actors Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai arrived to the same studio unknown of the presence of their respective ex. Salman’s team was shooting director Anil Sharma’s film ‘Veer’ while Ash was shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’ at Mehboob studios on Sunday.

Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan didnt bumped into Aishwarya Rai

Salman’s shoot was primarily supposed to be held in Pune, but due to the swine flu scare, the unit cancelled the outdoor schedule and preferred to shoot in the safe confines of Mehboob studios. There was no expectancy that Ashwarya would also be shooting for Bhansali’s film there. Salman stretched out in his vanity van and took full care that he doesn’t bumps into Aishwarya though she was busy in the shoot of Bhansali’s movie.

Aishwarya Rai’s kitty was already full and the delay in the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan has added to her filmmakers’ woes.

The actress had already shot major portions of Vipul Shah’s Action Replay, but there were three more songs that required 15 more days from her.

But because Ash got occupied with shooting Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish, Shah will now have to wait till September to shoot with her.

Akshay Kumar too is not able to match his dates with Ash, which further intensifies the problem.

Ash too close for Salman’s comfort

Ash too close for Salman's comfortOn one side, there was his former girlfriend Aishwarya Rai, whom he had such a torrid affair with that people can’t stop talking about it even today. And on the other side there was Ranbir Kapoor, who has been on more than one occasion linked with Salman’s longtime girlfriend, Katrina Kaif. To everyone’s surprise, Salman was not the least bit perturbed.

The three actors were shooting for their respective films at Mehboob Studios all day on Sunday. While Salman was there for Veer, Aishwarya was shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish and Ranbir was shooting for Yash Raj Films’ Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year.

Suddenly, the unit of Veer heard that Aishwarya was shooting a stone’s throw away. They, of course, were waiting with bated breath for Salman to lose his cool. However, preferring to stick to his chilled out demeanour, Salman was sprawled on comfy chairs outside his vanity van and was seen chatting with everyone in between shots.

Mallika praises Aishwarya

aishwarya_rai_7_410The animosity between most actresses is obvious in Bollywood but sensuous Mallika Sherawat not only likes getting compliments but she is also generous when it comes to ‘sshowering’ praises.

The voluptuous beauty recently tweeted about Aishwarya Rai when a fan wrote, “Mallika, you sure are making waves … and we all thought Ash will be doing it.” In reply she tweets, “Thanks, but Ash makes waves all her own. She’s one of a kind!”

We can say Mallika is definitely one of a kind too, the first B-town babe to be bestowed with an Honorary Citizenship and Official Resolution by the City of Los Angeles. It was on Independence Day when Mallika received the honour during a ceremony at Los Angeles City Hall. “First Indian actor to get a “recognition” by City of LA. Not bad, eh?” scribbles @MallikaLA.

Way to go girl!

Aishwarya Rai – Bollywood’s socialite non-actresses

August 12th, 2009

Aishwarya Rai - Bollywood's socialite non-actresses ONCE THEY had good innings in Bollywood. They were young. They were never actresses but stars. But age caught up with them.

Refusing to give up on Bollywood, although it has given up on them, they try gimmicks to stick on.

Instead of growing up (mentally) and moving on, they simply will remain here by hook or crook. They refuse to hang their boots and welcome the next phase whatever it may be.

With their fewer or non-existent films, they resort to gimmicks to be in limelight. The current trend is to hit the networking circuit hard and be on page three.

This does make news if not careers. Socialising has its own fringe benefits.

Their movies fail big time. Now with hardly anything on their platter, is it anything surprising to find them becoming socialites and on the networking sites.

Raavana can’t help himself even after centuries

aishwarya-rai-postponed-set1Seems like stars of “Raavana” are not holding up for Mani Ratnam’s project once again as the shooting of Aishwarya Rai-Abhishek Bachchan starrer flick “Raavana”, which was scheduled to start near Malshej Ghat from August 27, is in dilemma after the forest officials filed cases against fourteen unit members.

As per the sources, “The officials have filed cases against these people under the Forest Conservation Act, 1980 and the Indian Forest Act, 1927 for putting up sets for the film without legal permission. They have also impounded one JCB and a tractor involved in the construction work and spunk a fine.”

Now, the director Mani Rathnam will only be permitted to shoot on the site when he gets proper permission from the authorities and pays the fines obligated on the unit members.
Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and others were expected to shoot here for almost fourteen days, but now everything has turned into uncertainty.

Ash resumes shoot for Guzaarish

ash-saves-hrithik-a-dateAishwarya Rai Bachchan, who fell ill on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish in Mumbai, has resumed shooting for the film. The actress, who was advised a week’s bed-rest after she caught a chest infection, took only a three-day break from the shoot since she did not want to disrupt the film’s schedule. Already, she had to postpone the first day of her shoot for Bhansali to accommodate an additional day in Kerala for Raavan. What’s more, though she has finished most of her portions for the Mani Ratnam film, she is expected to join him for two to three days’ work during the 40-day long schedule at Malshej Ghat near Nashik. Just one of the days translated into a no-shoot day for the film’s unit since the other two days saw Hrithik Roshan and other actors going ahead with their portions. Incidentally, Aishwarya was diagnosed with the infection on Sunday, which was a weekly off for the unit and hence, the unit saved on what would otherwise have been one more day’s delay.

Aishwarya suited to play Rekha?

Diva Rekha has announced that she’s penning her autobiography, and there are talks that the beauty is keen to make a film adaptation of the book on her life as well. With Aishwarya Rai having played the protagonist in the modern Urmao Jaan, just like Rekha did in the yesteryear classic, the big question now is: Who is the most apt actress to play celluloid Rekha… Indiatimes Movies got in touch with a few filmmakers for their views…

Aishwarya suited to play Rekha

Subhash Ghai: I would opt to cast Rekha herself. Why settle for a duplicate when the original is in front of you? She is a remarkable looker, a great actresss … And if not Rekha, I’d settle for a new face. None of the actress’ of today would fit the bill…

Rains can’t douse Ash’s spirit

All praises for the indomitable spirit of Aishwarya Rai who braved the rough weather and continuous rains to shoot uninterruptedly for Mani Ratnam’s film Raavan in Cochin.

According to sources, the portions that were being shot required Ash to look drenched. The actress shot continuously in wet clothes, sometimes for as long as ten hours at a stretch because she had to film simultaneously for both the Hindi and Tamil version of the movie.

Needless to say, the long hours of shoot in the incessant downpour took a toll on the actress’s health and she developed fever. But Ash continued working despite director Mani Ratnam asking her to rest. She used to pop in a few pills and work throughout the day because she had to wrap the shoot in time and move on to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Guzaarish.

Aishwarya shoots for Guzaarish in MumbaiAishwarya Rai Bachchan, who returned to Mumbai a day later than scheduled from the sets of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, has two to three days work left on the film.

The actors who was flown back to Mumbai to keep up with her dates for the maiden schedule of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish that took-off in Mumbai over the weekend will be shooting her final scenes for Raavan later this month.

In fact, Aishwarya’s remaining scenes will be shot in and around Ooty rather than the dense jungles, which are currently serving as the sets for the film’s unit, including Abhishek Bachchan.

The delay in Aishwarya’s return to Mumbai was triggered by an entire day’s shoot being cancelled after an elephant created havoc on the sets at Athirampally waterfalls in Kerala’s Thrissur district.
