‘It was great working with Rajinikanth, who is a brilliant actor. The only tough thing about the movie was studying Tamil again in order to pronounce the words properly,’ she said.

Says Aishwarya,” Shankar had approached me previously to work with him, but could not be materialized. Finally, everything landed in place and here we are together after ten years.”

Other than this, the actress will soon start acting for Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ravana’ with her husband Abhishek Bachchan.

“I don’t want to reveal much about it but in another 10 days, we will start shooting for the movie. I am looking forward to working again with Mani,” she added in an interview to a news agency.

An appeal filed by the Income Tax department challenging relief granted to Aishwarya by the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal has been admitted by the Bombay High Court.

The Income Tax department decided to approach the High Court after the Tax Appellate Tribunal canceled the department’s decision to evaluate Aishwarya’s tax assessment.

The accepted appeal is about the tax assessment of the actress for the time period of 1996-1997.

Under the appeal the Tax department is questioning the exemption that was grated to the former miss world stating her to be an NRI at that particular point of time.

It was in 2003 the concerned officials planned to re-examine Aishwarya’s tax assessment after it was found out from her passport that during 1996-1997 she was not an non resident Indian.

If any person has to qualify for income tax exemption under the NRI category, he or she must be out of the country for a minimum period of 186 days and it was found out that during the time when Aiswarya was crowned Miss World she was not away from India for 186 days.

The grace of this remarkable period film is still lingering on and is spreading its fragrance in far away places.

‘Jodhaa Akbar’ has won the Grand Prix Award at the International Film Festival of Muslim Cinema Golden Minbar in Kazan, Russia.

And adding to the glory is the award for the best actor in the festival that has gone to the best looking Indian actor Hrithik Roshan for his role as the Emperor Akbar.

The B-Town movie shared the honors with an Iranian film ‘M for Mother’.

The jury at the festival selected the final winners from a group consisting of 35 films from around the world.

After filming her scenes for the day, the crew arranged a Birthday bash for her in the evening and hubby Abhishek Bachchan flew in from Mumbai to be with his pretty wife. To ensure that the former Miss World’s shooting goes on smoothly, Shankar hired 40 security guards to prohibit anyone from clicking pictures of the shoot. According to reports, S Shankar, who is directing the big budget Rajinikanth and Aishwarya starrer ‘Endhiran’ became furious when someone leaked the stills of the film’s recent shoot in Peru and splashed it all over the internet.

Shankar, who is known be a perfectionist, didn’t want to take any chances, and therefore he cordoned off the area so that no trespasser could catch a glimpse of what was going on inside.
