Bachchans and Shahrukh bond at ‘Drona’ premiere

Shahrukh Khan showed up with wife Gauri Khan and kids at the premiere of Drona .

The shutterbugs could not have enough of SRK with the Bachchans. Flashbulbs blinked in quick succession as a dapper looking SRK and his wife stood beside Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan to pose for the cameramen.

The premiere was a star-studded affair attended by the movie’s cast and a host of celebrities from B-Town including Preity Zinta , Karan Johar , Ritesh Deshmukh , Sajid Khan , Yash Chopra , Sushmita Sen , Anil Kapoor , Sonam Kapoor and Twinkle Khanna .

Aamir Khan was also invited but he couldn’t make it to the premiere because he was shooting for 3 Idiots .

Both Abhishek and Ash looked dazzling. He wore a black suit with a bow tie, while Ash wore a fetching blue-coloured outfit.

After Hrishikesh Mukherjee made the beautiful Amitabh-Jaya Bachchan starrer Abhimaan, ace cinematographer Rajiv Menon (Bombay and Guru) hopes to cast Abhishek Bachchan [Images] and Aishwarya Rai [Images] Bachchan in a film loosely based on the 1973 hit.

“Yes, Rajiv Menon, who is very close to me and Aishwarya, has narrated a script that is inspired by Abhimaan,” Abhishek confirms. “It’s not an exact remake. We are now planning to finalise the details.”

Abhimaan, which dealt with a husband’s increasing jealously when his singer wife’s success overshadows his own singing career, is also remembered for the melodious soundtrack composed by S D Burman.

Menon had earlier directed Ash in the Tamil love saga Kandukondein Kandukondein (2000), which also starred Mammothy and Tabu [Images]. The film won a lot of rave reviews.

Besides, Menon recently worked with both Abhishek and Ash in Mani Ratnam’s hit Guru.

Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra unveiled the costume of their forthcoming film, ”Drona” in Mumbai on Monday evening.

The film is produced by Shrishti Arya and directed by Goldie Behl.

Behl’’s film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Kay Kay Menon and Jaya Bachchan.

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan who essays the role of Drona in the film said that he liked the subject when Behl narrated him the script.

I really liked the story of Drona, when Goldie narrated it to me. I really liked the subject and told him that whether you cast me or not but please make the film because I would love to watch this film in the theatre, said Abhishek.

Drona is the modern tale of one man’’s spectacular voyage through the labyrinths of mystic myths and legendary legacies. Abhishek, Aishwarya say no to LG

Hottest couple Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai refused to represent LG as brand ambassadors for all their products across-the-board. The company had made them an eye-popping offer.

Reason? He didn’t want to be even remotely unfaithful to another cell-phone manufacturing company.

A source close to the Bachchans said: “LG was very keen to have Abhishek and Aishwarya to endorse their entire range of products across the line. It was a tempting and lucrative offer.

“LG’s range of products included cell-phones and Abhishek is already endorsing Motorala cell phones. So he had to decline the offer. But he has received a letter from the company saying they would love to have him and his wife as brand ambassadors any time they so wish.”

The Abhishek-Aishwarya pair won’t be seen in any advertisement at the moment, but they are coming together in Mani Ratnam’s next venture that goes to the floor as soon as Abhishek returns from Miami after filming Karan Johar’s home production, “Dostana”.

Valentine’s Day didn’t turn out the way Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan had hoped for, but they are not complaining. For the couple, every day is full of romance. “What a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift (the premiere of ‘Jodhaa Akbar’). Everyone who has seen ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ feels it is the perfect love story. And it doesn’t really matter if Abhishek couldn’t make it. For us, every day is Valentine’s Day. Every time we’re together, it’s Valentine’s Day,” Aishwarya told IANS.

Eyebrows were raised and whispers began when Aishwarya showed up with her in-laws Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan for the premiere of Ashutosh Gowariker’s epic romance Thursday. There was no Abhishek. He arrived at the end of the event because of a delayed flight.

Aishwarya admits that spending quality time with her husband is a problem.

bhishek Bachchan decided to give himself and dad Amitabh a treat after their two-month-long ‘Unforgettable’ world tour – they bonded while watching an English Premier League match between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.”We went to watch the Chelsea team play a football match, and we had a great time,” Abhishek told IANS after coming back home to Mumbai.

Bachchan Junior has been an ardent supporter of Chelsea and said that he enjoyed sharing time with his dad at London’s Stamford Bridge.

“I had been to the Chelsea matches several times. But it was the first time for Pa. And I was excited both by the thought of attending my favourite’s team match and by the fact that my dad was so excited. We had ourselves a ball.”

The father and son were invited as special guests of Chelsea team owner Roman Ebramowich. And they sat in Ebramowich’s private enclave watching the Chelsea team play.

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai says that Drona, in which hubby Abhishek Bachchan plays the title role, reminds her of her childhood days.

“Drona is a film that is rarely made in Bollywood. Not only will kids enjoy the film, elders too will revisit their childhood fantasies while watching the movie. Even I was reminded of my childhood days – when my world used to revolve around fairy tales like the stories of Amar Chitra Katha and the horses, angels, knights and magic in it,” Aishwarya told reporters here Friday.

Aishwarya, the brand ambassadress of Longines, was here for the press conference of Longines Sports Watch collection.

Commenting on Abhishek’s performance in Drona, she said: “If you are asking a wife to rate her husband, then I will tend to get partial. But if you are asking an actor to comment on another, then I will say that Abhishek is a dedicated actor and knows his job well.”

Abhi-Ash to do an Amitabh-Jaya

Finally somebody has gathered enough guts to even try and recreate the Amitabh-Jaya chemistry in a remake of their hit film Abhimaan. And it’s none other than their own son and daughter-in-law, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. The star couple will be seen in a Rajeev Menon film which has been inspired by this Hrishikesh Mukherjee classic, next year.

The film which will have Abhishek and Ash play singers like the former Amitabh Bachchan – Jaya Bachchan movie, will go on the floors in February 2009, reports a daily. The movie to be directed by Rajeev Menon will have music created by AR Rahman.

So difficult to achieve it in reality” uttered Amitabh Bachchan who had his rachides frozen till he got to know, his sweet son Abhishek hightailed miraculously from the clutches of calamitous scenario of serious bomb blasts in Delhi. It was an occasion of grand-fiesta at Connaught Palace, Delhi where Abhishek was supposed to be a part in it. It was all about standing on needle between life and death as a strenuous traffic jam had indeed saved Abhishek.

“Wedged between heavy traffic, Abhishek guessed he wouldn’t make it in time, since it was getting more grimace and asked the chauffeur to turn back. Minutes later, panic-stricken in anguish and appalling over the situation, he called to say he was alright” had written Bachchan in his blog.
