They are the most sought after onscreen and offscreen couple and individual stars, but Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan say they would never rate each other professionally.

Having worked in six films together, the couple is going to rub shoulders again for Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie Raavan and analysing each other at work is the last thing on their mind.

“We don’t rate each other. We just like working with each other as co-actors,” Aishwarya, 36, said via telepresence from Mumbai late Friday night.

“Abhishek is a very free actor. He breaks himself free. He works as a team member and doesn’t act as a male lead or anything of that sort (on work),” added the former Miss World-turned-actress, who was wearing a white salwar kameez and a pink dupatta.

“He is a team mate fulfilling his director’s vision in every which manner he can and a pleasure to work with,” she added.

It’s no surprise that Vivek Oberoi’s ex flame Aishwarya Rai didn’t show up at the IIFA Awards 2010 as her father-in-law himself had sidelined the show owing to protests and turmoil despite him being the brand ambassador.
But when a certain Salman Khan spat sarcasm at Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwaray Rai Bachchan for not supporting the people in times of adversity, Vivek directly defended them even boldly taking their names.
Speaking to the reporters, Vivek went outspoken and said,
“You have to respect the fact that people have work for which they sometimes cannot turn up at events. It happens to each one of us. I know everyone wanted to see the Bachchan family in Colombo. They are being missed by the people of Sri Lanka as well as by everyone of us. Abhishek and Aishwarya have a film up for release and, trust me, there is a lot of work and stress during a release (of Raavan). So, give them a respite. I’m sure they would be missing being here too.”

The film ‘Raavan’ has been a great advent adventurous experiences for the cast and crew, connected with it.
The most amazing shots, were taken by the director Mani Ratnam, by making on the spot decisions, which to the surprise of everyone, no one could avoid or dare to even back out.
Reportedly, there were many instances in the movie, where the director had asked his actors to do an on the spot jump or climb or wade through muddy water or some bizarre action sequence.
One such shot taken on the spur of the moment, was when the cast and crew were at the Athirapally waterfalls in Kerala.The director instantly decided to make the actors, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and hubby Abhishek, who kidnaps Ash in the flick, climb the slippery slopes of the waterfall.
Most surprisingly, Aishwarya and Abhishek, who were not perturbed by anything that the director asked for, readily agreed to go ahead, with the ‘on the spot ‘decision of the director, and climbed the slippery turf of the waterfall.
The slopes were extremely dangerous to climb, and the fact that there was a lot of moss made matters worse.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently played the perfect Bachchan bahu as she cooked for hubby Abhishek Bachchan and the entire cast of the film ‘Game’ in Greece. The cast of the film, which includes Kangna Ranaut, Jimmy Shergill, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Shahana Goswami, Gauhar Khan and the film’s co-producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, swear by the culinary skills of the gorgeous lady.

Talking about their cooking spree, Abhishek said to a news daily, “Whenever we had spare time, we did a little cooking for everyone. Apart, of course, from cycling, taking walks and playing volleyball on the beach.”

Talking about the film shooting experience, Abhishek said, “Shooting in Samos was an experience in itself, especially the action sequences, as we had all modes of water transport being used.”

Looks like South star Vikram is smitten by his Raavan co-star Aishwarya Rai (after all, who isn’t). Vikram who plays the endearing character loosely based on Ram in the Hindi version is all praise for Ash.
He recalls how good a dancer she is. He hails her dancing skills to be as good, if not better, than the legendary Madhuri Dixit. Speaking of the experience in Raavan, he says. “It was really nice to see her dance. I just forgot my own steps and kept staring.”
Aishwarya Rai plays the demure and vulnerable role based on Sita in both the Hindi and Tamil versions and she plays her character with grace and effortlessness. Vikram sums it up beautifully as he cites, “It’s strange that every Miss World and Miss Universe enters movies. But who has had the lingering impact of Aishwarya’s? She has some kind of an enduring aura. Over the years she has really evolved as an actor.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is one lucky gal from bollywood who can call the shots at the drop of a hat, if she so desires.
Well don’t believe this? Read on. It was during the shooting of the forth-coming Mani Ratnam flick ‘Raavan’, when there was a scene to be shot in the marshlands, as the scene required some mud to be splashed on to the actors, to get an authentic look for that particular scene.
The entire cast was assembled there to give their shots. Each one managed to give a proper shot, including hubby Abhishek.
When it was Aishwarya’s turn to give her shots, there was a total confusion. Reportedly, the sensitive actor was not able to bear the dirty stench of the marshes, and not able to withstand the smell for long, she just refused to go ahead and give her part of sequence for the film in that marshy land.
As the cast and crew stood confused by the turn of events, in came the director Mani Ratnam, to rescue Ash, when he heard the cause of the confusion.
He immediately called off the shoot. Then, he ordered an artificial marshland to be made in a swimming pool. When this was done, Aishwarya was called to do the shots, and the result was just perfect. Therefore, Mani sir was quite happy.
What is amazing is that Ash could dictate terms to even Mani sir, of whom even Abhishek Bachchan, her hubby is in total awe of. Everyone is scared to say anything to the strict director, unless somebody as famous as Ash, of course!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, in a stunning tulle Elie Saab couture gown, was all set to score a perfect 10 on the red carpet of 63rd Cannes film festival, but her ‘bird’s nest’ hairdo let her down.

The actress blew kisses on the red carpet on Wednesday, alongside Hollywood beauty Eva Longoria Parker at the screening of Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood. While her choice of the dress was appreciated by most style critics, her hairstyle, with a voluminous pouf above her forehead is being panned for being ‘too matronly’.

“Loved the scalloped details on Aishwarya’s gown. Hated the hairdo, too much volume,” posted Kelly, on a fashion blog. “Ash is such a stunner but ugh, the hair doesn’t do her justice. Turns something that could’ve been so divine into matronly,” blogs Ela24.

Recently, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has had a great experience in learning up her lines in Tamil, during the making of Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavanan’, which is the Tamil version of the film ‘Raavan’.
Aishwarya, who had begun her career with the director in her first ever film which was in Tamil; Irvar’.During that film, Ash had not dubbed her own lines, it had required a professional dubbing artiste to do justice to her lines.
