2010 ended for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with 4 releases – RAAVAN (Hindi) & RAAVANAN (Tamil & Telugu), ROBOT/ENDHIRAN, ACTION REPLAYY and GUZAARISH. The reviews for her performances from critics and the movie going audiences have been over whelming, clearly stating that Aishwarya has been able to create and give a new life to each character she has portrayed. The icing on the cake has been the numerous awards conferred on her for these films.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan started the season of awards with a bang; she was awarded Actress Of The Decade at the Big Star Entertainment Awards. At the Apsara Awards Producers Guild Awards 2011, she was conferred with the PRESIDENTS HONOUR for the cinematic excellence of her work as the leading female actor in the film GUZAARISH. This winning streak continued when she got the Best Actress-Critic’s Category at the Zee Cine Awards held at Singapore and then most recently she got an award for the Best Actress-Drama Category for her role in GUZAARISH at the recently concluded Stardust Awards.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has gone slow in signing any new films. This can be confirmed from the fact that the pretty woman doesn’t have a single (yes you read it right) film in hand right now. No, it isn’t because of ‘Guzaarish’, ‘Action Replayy’ and ‘Raavan’ biting the dust. The actress still has filmmakers queuing up to lap her on. However the lady hasn’t given a nod to any of them hence kick starting many a speculation.

“It isn’t surprising at all that Aishwarya has suddenly put brakes on her acting career,” says an industry insider, “Last year was quite tough for her when she had as many as four releases, including ‘Endhiran’/'Robot’. In fact for the Rajnikanth starrer, her only successful film of the year, she had invested more than two years. She couldn’t afford dedicate much time on her personal life.”

- Former Miss World and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan graced an international annual sports event of the World’s Bunt Sports Meet in Powai as the chief guest and was accompanied by her husband Abhishek Bachchan and mother Vrinda Rai on the occassion. Aishwarya belongs to the Shetty community known as Bunts. Bunt or Tulunad Kshatriya is a Hindu community that belongs to the region of Tulu Nadu in the southwestern part of the country including the districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka. The Bunts Sangh has been taking the initiative in bringing Bunts all across the world together by organizing sports meet annually, at the S M Shetty Institute in Powai. This year witnessed about 5000 Bunts settled in different countries participating in the event.

The anarkali suit seems to have grown as the second skin of Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The actor has been seen wearing this outfit almost at every second event — be it the music launch of Robot, the promotions of Guzaarish, World Bunt Sports Meet and the recent

Apasara and Zee Cine awards.

The dress is in vogue, but we wonder why Ash is stuck on this voluminous trend, when she’s capable of wearing trendier dresses at the red carpet. Designer Neeta Lulla says, “Anarkali is not a red carpet trend and Aishwarya can try a stylishly draped sari instead.”
Ash experiments at Cannes!
The star looks elegant in anarkali suits, but experts agree unanimously that she needs to experiment more. “If Aishwarya wants to continue with this trend, she should at least experiment with the cuts and designs. I guess she only likes experimenting at Cannes,” says designer Arpan Vohra. “Anarkali suits hide the flab around the waist,” says designer Vandy Mehra. So is Ash wearing this garment frequently with a purpose, and thus playing it safe all the while?

Aishwarya clarifies that though she was really unwell, she went to Singapore for the award night in advance and never threw any tantrums.

Recently there were media reports claiming that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan threw tantrums at an award function in Singapore. However the actress has refuted these reports and issued a clarification statement mentioning that though she was really unwell, she went to Singapore for the award night in advance and she never even mentioned a change or suggested otherwise than what was planned by the organizers, putting the award first and her personal comfort later. She went for her rehearsal late at night when all had finished with their respective rehearsals. At the rehearsal she insisted with the choreographer to send back the dance troupe as they had been rehearsing all day and used the services of two of the choreographer’s assistants to do a run through and basically saw her whole act performed by them.

Holmes khabri says that it was Contractor who decked up Junior Mrs B for all her ads, including the ones for Loreal. So, she had to be by his side to encourage him on his big day. Clap!
But I’m told that Ash was falling all over her pati parmeshwar Abhishek Bachchan, giggling all evening. She was even pulling his cheeks and coochie-cooing with him at the do.

Next: she was seen getting too pally for comfort with director Tarun Mansukhani who worked with Abhishek on Dostana, and will work soon with him on Dostana 2. Guess, that was the reason that she was pulling his cheeks and unsteadying his hair too!

Certainly! If you boast of a Miss World crown, spate of award winning Indian films and acknowledgment at international level. But when the event sees all A-listers in attendance, throwing your weight can infuriate all and sundry.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is the global face of India, couldn’t keep in check the curt side of her at a recently held award function in Singapore. Apart from keeping the organisers on their toes all the time, Aishwarya disrupted the rehearsals of other celebrities by choosing to rehearse her act at her own sweet time without caring if it would clash with others. “Despite repeated requests, Ash refused to come on stage and remained backstage. She made it clear that if she is receiving an award, it has to be handed over by the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan.
