Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is quite firm in telling that Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavanan’ is not a new age adaptation of Ramayana or any other mythological story.

Affirming her views, Aishwarya clearly tells that ‘Raavanan’ the title was placed because the character of Vikram in Tamil or Abhishek Bachchan in Hindi, is a multifaceted character. The character they play has a lot of negative shade but they are not out rightly bad people.

Further adding she says, that particular character’s nick name is ‘Raavanan’ for the wicked things Vikram does! It is an unpredictable character, while he is happy and smiling at a particular time, he acts mean and crazy the next second.

Is she reminding us of ‘Anniyan’ by any chance? Jokes apart, the movie is an interesting tale of revenge and everyone is eagerly waiting to see it!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vikram, the actor from south, have been getting rave reviews for their astounding performances in the forth-coming Mani Ratnam flick ‘Raavan’, in Hindi, ‘Raavanan’, in Tamil and the dubbed version in Telegu, ‘Villian’.

Right after the music launch of the film, the songs have become quite a rage, and the extremely wonderful performances of the actors in the dancing sequences is also creating quite a stir.
Reportedly, the southern actor Vikram, who has acted in both the Hindi as well as the Tamil version of the flick, has been very impressed with Ash’s dancing skills. In the Hindi version, he plays the role of Beera (Raavan), whereas, in the Tamil version, he plays the role of Dev, the hubby of Ragini (Sita), played by Aishwarya.
Thus, in the Hindi version, there is no dance sequence between the two. But, in the Tamil version, the song Khilli Re’, has an astounding dance sequence with both of them. The number is extremely romantic, with a lot of physical contact and movements.
Sources reveal that when actor Vikram’s wife had seen the promo of the song, even she had commented on the chemistry between Aishwarya and Vikram.
Vikram, on his part is very impressed with Aishwarya’s dancing skills, and has praised her solo performances to the hilt! Wow!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, in a stunning tulle Elie Saab couture gown, was all set to score a perfect 10 on the red carpet of 63rd Cannes film festival, but her ‘bird’s nest’ hairdo let her down.

The actress blew kisses on the red carpet on Wednesday, alongside Hollywood beauty Eva Longoria Parker at the screening of Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood. While her choice of the dress was appreciated by most style critics, her hairstyle, with a voluminous pouf above her forehead is being panned for being ‘too matronly’.

“Loved the scalloped details on Aishwarya’s gown. Hated the hairdo, too much volume,” posted Kelly, on a fashion blog. “Ash is such a stunner but ugh, the hair doesn’t do her justice. Turns something that could’ve been so divine into matronly,” blogs Ela24.

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had once in a life time experience while shooting for the film Raavan.She plays Ragini, a classical dancer in the film who is married to Southern Star Vikram.
The promos show her without any traces of make-up on her beautiful face. Rather she is wet, tired with blood, mud and sweat all over her face and body.
Aishwarya is eagerly awaiting the release of this film which had given her a chance to showcase her acting abilities and not just be a mere glam doll.
She further explains that she had to dance, emote and also bear the brunt of this weird character of Raavan played by hubby Abhishek Bachchan.
Even though it is widely believed that while Aishwarya plays modern age Sita, Abhishek plays Raavan rom the mythological Ramaayan.The ex miss World, however, is reluctant to admit that the film is a modernized version of Ramaayan.
She comments that this film cannot be compared to any mythology as such and there is no connection with any epic.
As far as working with her hubby is concerned, Aishwarya reveals that it had been a wonderful experience for both of them. She also adds that they do not discuss filmy affairs once their shooting gets over.

There’s talk that actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Akshay Kumar are giving a tough time to filmmaker Vipul Shah, who is busy with the production of ‘Action Replayy’, a story that ranges from 1975 to present day! Apparently, the actors have just one song left to shoot, but won’t! The reason cited for this is ‘genuine date problem’ for both actors!

Aishwarya is currently busy with her Cannes appearance, and Akshay on the other hand is busy shooting Nikhil Advani’s ‘Patiala House’ in London. The good part is that both the actors are shooting not very far away from each other and have even recommended that Vipul Shah come to London and shoot his song at nights. However, Vipul isn’t too sure about taking up the suggestion. “It’ll mean overwork for them, and besides I have already postponed the release of Action Replayy from June to September. I have four days of shooting left and then Ash’s Raavan, too, is scheduled for a June release. So it just made sense…”
