If you are a celebrity then comparisons are an inevitable part of your life and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai is no different. There was a time when she was the undisputed most desirable actress in the tinsel town.
She was ruling the roost and was a mesmeriser both owing to her mirror-shattering beauty and her ample amount of on-screen talent. However, of late, the tabloids are penning more and more articles about Katrina Kaif who is considered to be her arch rival.
Being young and vivacious, Katrina is hogging all the limelight- be it for her rom-com flicks or her navel-show in raunchy songs like ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’. To Aishwarya’s credit, she did as many as 4 films in 2010 but most of them were duds at the box office. The audience is no more tempted to watch her film and even a spectacular film like ‘Guzaarish’ licked the dust at the theatres.

Aishwarya Rai had 4 releases in 2010 which made her year a gruelling one. But her happiest moment came when her nephew was born and she became a doting aunt. And this reminds us of the rumours of her own motherhood that has dogged the headlines on more than one occasion.
The rumour of her pregnancy has plagued the gossip columns umpteen of times in the past few months. Of course, these speculations regarding her baby must have irked her but then that’s the price you pay for being a super star.
However, in the latest issue of People Magazine, Aishwarya has finally spoken out about her aspirations to be a mother. She cites that though she tries to ignore all rumours, the reports of her inability to conceive coz of stomach tuberculosis had hurt her sentiments.
But she is, indeed, awaiting her days when she would need to change the diapers. She states, “Of course I am looking forward to it. As and when God has planned for me, I will be a mother.”
And she regards child as a God’s gift and shall be equally delighted with the birth of a boy or a girl. But one boy and one girl would be the perfect gift from Almighty.

Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik: 2 most disappointing films of 2010

Now that the year 2010 is over, we can sit back and look at some of the memorable and not-so-memorable flicks that came and went away, some spellbinding us on the way while others failing to live upto our expectations. Two of the most hyped films of the year that flopped at the box office starred Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai. Have a look:

1. Hrithik Roshan: Hrithik Roshan starrer film ‘Kites’ was undoubtedly the most hyped film of the year. Directed by Anurag Basu, it starred the Mexican bombshell Barbara Mori and spawned whispers of a secret romance between Hrithik and the foreign lass. Made with a budget crossing Rs 50 crore, it was a film that was hugely awaited but the sluggish pace of the film, dearth of a good storyline and linguistic barrier dug out a grave for Kites.
2. Aishwarya Rai: Aishwarya Rai starrer film ‘Raavan’ was another flick that had been in the news ever since its making. Besides, it brought the trio of Aishwarya, hubby Abhishek and director Mani Ratnam after their hit ‘Guru’ and expectations were sky high. But alas! Abhishek failed to impress the critics with his portrayal of the ten headed Beera (Raavan) and the daggers were out leading to Raavan’s beheading.

As and when God has planned for me, I will be a mother.”

“A child is God’s gift and we will be happy to have a child, be it a girl or a boy,” she adds.

Katrina Kaif or Aishwarya Rai: Who is a better item girl?

By Jilawatan

Bollywood, these days, has got into the habit of making the A-list actresses come out of their comfort zones and don the cloaks of an item girl.
And after the sizzling sexy number from Malaika Arora Khan in ‘Munni badnaam hui’ from Dabangg, Katrina Kaif has been creating ripples with her scintillating performance and belly jig in the hit song ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ from ‘Tees Maar Khan.’
With two of the hottest songs of 2010 in ‘Munni’ and ‘Sheila’, many of the social networking sites are pitting them up and comparing the popularity of the two numbers. And if the results are anything to go by, then the farm fresh ‘Sheila’ is, currently, hogging all the limelight.
Katrina has lost oodles of weight and shed her clothes and inhibitions for this saucy song. Her stint reminds of an Aishwarya Rai who had gone the dare-bare way a few years back in ‘Dhoom 2’.
In fact, Aishwarya has earned some accolades as a successful item girl. Her ‘Krazy kiya re’ number was a rage amongst the youngsters and her songs like ‘Ishq kamina’ and ‘kajra re’ are still remembered with intense fervour.

Aishwarya Rai: Will she pen the Salman Khan saga in her autobiography?

By Jilawatan

Though Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor are, currently, ruling the B-town with right doses of glamour and talent, it is the veteran Aishwarya Rai who defeats them comprehensively when it comes to global popularity.

Unlike the likes of Kareena and Priyanka, Aishwarya is renowned worldwide (after all, she had won the coveted pageant at the Miss World). Aishwarya’s global supremacy also accounts from the fact that she has worked in a slew of crossover films like ‘Pink Panther 2’, ‘The Last Legion’, ‘Bride and Prejudice’ and so on.
Reportedly, a few foreign publishers are insisting Aishwarya to pen her autobiography. In fact, they are ready to pay out handsome fee to her. As per reports, she has also been approached with a blank cheque by a publisher itching to print her journey from her modelling days to her Bollywood crown.
Publishers are also eyeing that she dishes out her relationship tales in the autobiography. In fact, Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi controversies are significant parts of her life and would make her books fly off the shelf in a jiffy.
But then Aishwarya being a very private person is brooding over it. She hasn’t yet given her nod and even if she does so, it is highly unlikely that she would serve her readers a dose of her spicy romance. But the publishers can still keep their fingers crossed.
