There are two films being made on heroines and their lives. One is The Dirty Picture which has Vidya Balan in the lead and the other is Heroine that stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead role.

While Vidya essays a Silk Smitha-type character in Milan Luthria’s film, the second sees Ash playing the role of a superstar whose career is fading away in the Madhur Bhandarkar directed flick.

Now both directors have stepped up their pace to ensure that their project goes on the floor as soon as possible. Madhur wants to release the film after Ra.One while Milan is working with Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn.

Moti Sagar and his team at Sagar Arts are in the process of finding their Ajay Devgn, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan for the ‘televised’ version of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, that was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 2007. The show is as yet untitled but the casting has started. The show for Colors will have an ensemble cast.

Moti Sagar says, “I wouldn’t call it a frame-by-frame remake. My show revolves around a group of folk singers in the interiors of Gujarat, the Darbaris. The show is a family drama-cum-love story between three leading characters.”

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’s storyline also revolved around three characters, Vanraj (Ajay), Nandini (Aishwarya) and Sameer (Salman Khan). Sameer and Nandini fall in love but the latter is married off to Vanraj who on learning that she loves another, tries to reunite her with her Indo-Italian singer.

For a few months, till Vipul Shah announced November 5 as D-Day, the grapevine had been buzzing about Action Replayy lining up for an Eid opening. And setting up a moonstruck clash between Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan, whose Dabangg had also zeroed in on September10.

However, the producer-director denies this, “Ash versus Salman? Eid was never an option. We had earlier locked on July 23 but the post-production is taking longer than expected because the film has a lot of special effects. So another Akshay Kumar starrer, Khatta Meetha, opened last Friday,” says Shah. “Diwali is a good time for our fun film.”

They are becoming a habit with each other. The husband-wife duo of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan confess that they thoroughly enjoy working with each other.

Guru, Sarkar Raj and now Raavan… this couple has been having a field day working together. But the beauty of this combination is that they don’t carry their work home. When curious journos asked this superstar couple whether they discuss movies in the confines of their bedroom, the couple jointly said, “No, we leave our work behind in the studios. Home is our personal space… and we have a lot to talk about other than work.” They sound quite like Kajol and Ajay Devgn, another couple that revels in each other’s company at home. No shop talk there.

aishwarya_raiAishwarya Rai is not a happy woman, and her new film seems to be another disaster in the making.

‘Action Replay’, a the new flick from producer-director Vipul Shah is in some serious trouble after lead Aishwarya Rai has refused to dub for he film. According to insiders, Ash was fuming when she saw the latest cut of the film, and realised that her character has been sidelined and most of her scenes have been chopped off.

Director Vipul Shah had earlier faced the same problem when his London Dreams was due for release; lead Asin had complained that her role was slaughtered and her character was reduced to a mere background dancer which had zero significance in the film. Shah had also gone ahead and not featured Asin in the first promo of London Dreams. Now Asin is a small fry at the moment, but to leave shots ofAishwarya Rai on the cutting room floor won’t exactly be met with warm embraces.
