Unfazed by the fate of her films at the box office, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan counts her blessings as she reaps the fruits of years of hard work.

This year, except “Endhiran”, “Guzaarish”, “Raavan” and “Action Replayy” haven’t done too well at the BO. How much does that bother you?
Not at all. I got a great review for each of the films that I worked in, whether it was “Endhiran”, “Raavan”, “Action Replayy” or “Guzaarish”, so for me, it’s been a terrific year. Everything that I set out to accomplish when I took on these movies, as an actor, and in terms of the response I was looking for, I have been able to. Because, as an actor with so many years of experience now, you know when you take on a subject what potential the character per se holds. No one can ever preordain the destiny of a film and I say destiny because it’s literally that. After so many years, you cannot necessarily say that a great film is a superhit or it’s the other way around. I’m happy that the response from critics and audience has been so overwhelming for each of the characters essayed, no matter how different they were from each other.

The co-producer of ” Guzaarish” has justified the controversial promotional posters of the film that show Aishwarya Rai smoking a cigarette, saying it is “a creative requirement of the script”.

A letter issued by UTV Software Communications Private Limited to the National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE), a tobacco vigilante organisation headquartered in Goa, has stated that Ash’s smoking act on the posters was necessary.

“The scene in which the character, played by Aishwarya Rai, is shown smoking was merely a creative requirement for the script,” UTV Software communications limited has said in a letter to an anti-tobacco organization, quoting a spokesperson.

Earlier, NOTE had demanded the ‘smoking’ posters be deleted from the promotional campaign. In a written complaint, the organisation’s general secretary Shekhar Salkar had said that the display of the posters showing Aishwarya smoking could inspire her fans to take up the ‘cancer-stick’.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s pregnancy news is no more restricted to India only but internationally also the news is making the waves that she is expecting. It all happened in Dubai when Ash cancelled her interview at the last moment. Her last minute cancellation of the meeting gave fuel to the fire among the small community of Indian journalist in the Middle East that she is pregnant.

“Unless it is a case of dodgy Indian curries that is slowly but surely emanating, the rumour mills are grinding to grist the possibility of a classic Ash diva tantrum because she is pregnant,” quoted the local newspaper in Dubai.

This is not the first that Aishwarya’s pregnancy rumor has made Ash’s life havoc. Not only she but Abhishek Bachchan was also tortured with the same question and even Amitabh Bachchan had to clarify the news at times.

Bollywood queen bee Aishwarya Rai turned 37 on Monday and the Bachchan bahu spent her big day celebrating with her family.

Her birthday was brought in with a family dinner on Sunday night at the Taj Hotel after an awards function attended by Amitabh Bachchan, husband Abhishek, mother-in-law Jaya and sister-in-law Shweta.

“Family dinner at Chinese in Taj where function was held… and brought in Aishwarya Birthday… good feel about the day…(sic),” Big B posted on Twitter.

Birthday wishes started flowing in at midnight while Aishwarya was on her way back home from the hotel.

“It nears past midnight as we stroll out of the Hotel Taj and the wishes for Aishwarya start. Happy birthday daughter-in-law and may you achieve and get all that you so desire,” Bachchan senior wrote on his blog.

The fourth edition of TV reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ will kick start from October 11.

The KBC 4 will be hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

But the buzz around is that Bollywood couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan will appear in a episode of KBC 4.

The channel is trying to get in more celebrities for this season to make it more interesting and special.

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan will be seen in this season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. The channel has contacted him, but he is still to confirm his presence.

The winning amount has been increased from 1 crore to 5 crore in the fourth edition.

Angelina Jolie and Aishwarya Rai have often been compared for their physical similarities and unearthly beauty. This time, Aishwarya takes another benevolent step reminding me of the H-town’s philanthropic lady Jolie.

Aishwarya has become the ambassador for the Sahachari Foundation, a charitable trust established by 11 Mumbai women that strives to assist NGOs and the needy and down-trodden. This year Sahachari Foundation is giving financial assistance to Victoria Memorial School for the Blind and Bombay Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Aishwarya has encouraging words for the initiative as she applauds,
“It is absolutely wonderful the kind of work and effort that these ladies have come together to do in such a subtle yet unconditional and sincere manner.”
Aishwarya took out ample time from her gruelling schedule and spent some quality moments with the children of the Victoria Memorial School for the Blind. In fact, she was in tears when the gratified kids sang to her beauty and good-heartedness.
Ash, as you must be aware, has already donated her emerald eyes. Talking of her philanthropic step towards Sahachari, she cites, “It’s our own little steps to try and make a difference. It doesn’t make all the difference but believe you me one step in itself quantifies as plenty. I have always believed that.”
By her commendable endeavours, she also reminds of her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan who is associated with quite a few social causes.

Are the Bachchans set for a tryst with Hollywood stars? Well, it seems so. Cheeni Kum director R. Balki is reportedly planning to approach Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep for a film with Amitabh Bachchan.

On the other hand, Big B’s daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan might land a role opposite Hollywood actor Ben Stiller. According to TV reports, Ash is vying with Sonam Kapoor for a role in Stiller’s film.

Aishwarya’s spokesperson remained unavailable for comment. Coming back to Big B, Balki is giving finishing touches to a love story with him in mind. The director, who is flying high on the success of Paa, has said approaching the Devil Wears Prada actress for his venture is the least of his worries.

Perhaps no other Indian actor has a Rs 150 crore movie riding on Late night on Saturday, at JW Marriott, everyone present for the music launch of Robot (Enthiran in Tamil, Telugu), waited to hear Rajnikanth speak. And he held the audience’s attention with his sense of humour. The superstar began by first thanking Amitabh Bachchan, the chief guest who was launching the soundtrack composed by AR Rahman and lyrics written by Swanand Kirkire.

“Whenever I have acted with Amitji, in Andhaa Kanoon, Geraftaar and Hum, he’s always shown me a lot of love,” he said, adding, “I can’t take any major decision without consulting him. Whatever he told me when I met him in Lonavla, years ago, is something I’ll cherish in my heart forever.”
