Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai will be coming up with South India’s leading actor Rajinikanth in Science fiction movie Endhiran that will be directed by S Shankar. I have come to know that the budget of the movie is quite massive and will make it one of the most expensive films ever in Bollywood.

The movie is based on American Film Bicentennial Man that featured Robin Williams and Sam Neill. The movie will also have music by AR Rahman, and will be released in Tamil language.

Something interesting to note is the fact that Bachchan family had recently avoided the International Indian Film Festival in Sri Lanka and one of the reasons could be the fact that it could have affected the family relations with the Tamil Film Industry.

Some scenes in the film will have Ash learning martial arts from the hero.

Aishwarya, who has done action scenes for ‘Dhoom 2′ and ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, is busy brushing up her action skills. She is learning Karate from Ramesh master so that she could perform her part naturally.

The big budget extravaganza, a science fiction made by showman Shankar, has Rajnikanth playing two roles: One of them is a scientist and the other, a robot he creates. A.R Rahman scores the music for the film.

Aishwarya Rai completes filming Mani Ratnam's 'Ravan' Aishwarya Rai has completed filming for Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ravan’ with co-star and husband Abhishek Bachchan and is currently taking a break with her family.

She tweeted yesterday:  Done with the film now!! taking a short break for a week and then back in action for the final schedule of Vipul’s ‘Action Replay’!!

Aishwarya has been slogging it out, working on four films at a time – Mani Ratnam’s Ravan and Raavana (Tamil), Vipul Shah’s Action Replay and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish with co-star Hrithik Roshan.

Aishwarya is playing the same role in both the Hindi and Tamil versions of Ravan. She speaks her own dialogs for the Tamil version as she is fluent in the language.

She posted a link to a Tamil song from Raavana, earlier named Ashokavanam, composed by A.R. Rahman.

Rumourmills in Kollywood say director Shankar and Rajnikanth are angry and worried about the “leak” of songs. The film, being made at a cost of Rs 120 crore, has AR Rahman scoring the music. Aishwarya Rai plays the heroine.

The shooting for the film is going on at a brisk pace and may hit theatres this year itself. The science fiction thriller, in which Rajnikanth plays a double role — as a scientist and a robot he creates– may reach theatres this year itself.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was all praises for A R Rahman. Addressing a press conference in Kolkata, she stated that she was overjoyed at Rahman’s double Oscar win.

The actress is currently in Kolkata participating in the shooting of her upcoming film Ravana. Ash is in fact the most fortunate as Rahman had composed for most of her films compared to any other actor or actress.

She was quoted as saying, “Working with Rahman has been an absolute pleasure. It’s not just from Taal to Guru, but it’s from ‘Iruvar’ till ‘Ravana’. In fact, maximum of my films have enjoyed the music of Rahman and as a music lover and fan, I have always admired his music and he is a gifted musician,” stated the former Miss World.

Ace cinematographer Rajiv Menon captured some really beautiful moments between Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Mani Ratnam’s Guru. Now Rajiv is all set to direct Bollywood’s most talked about couple in his next film.

Bollywood Hungama spoke to the South based cinematographer who confirmed the news. “Yes…Abhishek and Aishwarya are starring in my next directorial venture titled Dhun. It’s a film where music plays a very important role. The film goes on floors sometime in June this year.”

Quiz him on rumors that the film is similar to the Amitabh-Jaya Bachchan starrer Abhimaan and he says, “I think Abhishek has already clarified this. There is no similarity except the fact that the characters in my film also play musicians.”

And Danny Boyle wasn’t just trying to make a statement. A different Ash in each of her ventures — that’s what Aishwarya Rai Bachchan aims for, even

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

if it’s a minuscule role in a Hollywood film.

Your latest Hollywood outing sees you in an avatar which is far from your leading lady image…
It’s not about whether I’m the leading lady in a project or who my co-star is. For me, the film-maker, script and role are deciding factors. And I have always tried to defy the obvious and test myriad characters. That’s why there’s an Iruvar, Josh, Khakee, Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, Devdas, Raincoat, Chokher Bali and Shabd to name a few. As they have been saying in the West, ‘She is not house-hunting in Hollywood’. In fact, I’ve never done that. I’ve not gone to them looking for work.
