Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai is hitting headlines once again for a controversial issue. There is a huge humdrum on the net that Aishwarya Rai turned down the offer to dance with Shahrukh Khan in a recently held award function.
Grapevine has it that the King Khan wanted to shake a leg with Aishwarya on her hit item number ‘Kajra re’. But Aishwarya turned down the offer apparently coz she didn’t want to dance on the track with SRK. Aishwarya had made this ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ song hit by gyrating to this seductive number alongside Abhishek and Amitabh Bachchan.
Aishwarya, therefore, considers this song a family affair and does not intend to shake legs on it with anyone other than Abhishek or Amitabh. Since SRK is neither her hubby nor her father-in-law, she refused the request placed by the organisers.
Shahrukh had been planning a gig around the tinsel town’s ladies over the years and wanted to conclude it with ‘kajra re’ with Aish. But after Aish snubbed him, he was compelled to shelve his plan.
Neither Aishwarya nor SRK has commented on the issue and one wonders if things are all normal between the two!

When sources caught Abhi and Aish together, the couple was seen in very much love with each other, and Abhi has no doubts in saying that Aish is a very supportive and understanding wife.

While talking to the sources Abhi said, “Aishwarya is very supportive and encouraging. She is a very chilled out person and doesn’t take things to heart,”

“People ask me if I changed after marriage. But I just say ‘Why should I change?’ Aishwarya loves me the way I am and married me for the way I am. Then why should I change at all,” he added.

A happy married couple
The couple had announced their engagement on January 14, 2007 and after 3 months, they tied the knot on April 20, 2007. All the arrangements for the wedding ceremony was made at the Bachchan’s residence ‘Prateeksha’ in Juhu, Mumbai.

While talking about the successful marriage, the couple pointed out that keeping faith in a relationship, and to keep all doubts in mind and heart aside is the key to a successful marriage.

There were rumors after their marriage that Aish will leave the industry as well as her acting career and devote her full time to her family and husband.But the 36-year-old actress rubbished the rumors and continued to be a part of the film industry.

While addressing the sources Abhi said, “I feel great about Aishwarya’s achievements, I’m very proud of her. Whatever adulation she has got, she truly deserves it.”

“I m happy that she broke the notion that women can’t work after marriage. Why are we so regressive in our thinking? If she wants to work, her audience wants to see her. What is people’s problem? I as a husband am very happy that she is doing so well. I think she is doing better work now,” Abhishek added.

The happy married couple has done many films together before and after their marriage. They have even give some blockbuster like ‘Dhoom 2′ and ‘Guru’. Others include ‘Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke’, ‘Kuch Naa Kaho’ and ‘Umrao Jaan’ along with recently released ‘Raavan’.

Abhi and Aish had also done an item number for ‘Bunty aur Babli’ with Amitabh Bachchan.

Sushmita Sen will appear in an item number in Sajid Khan’s film, Housefull, dancing to the remixed version of the famous song ‘Apni Toh Jaise Taisi’.

Confirmation of Sushmita’s appearance in the song – first made famous by Amitabh Bachchan in the 1981 blockbuster Lawaaris – puts persistent rumours of Aishwarya Rai’s appearance in the Housefull item number to rest.

While Aishwarya Rai was indeed approached to appear in the song, sources say she has turned the offer down, allegedly due to the link the song has with her father-in-law. She is also currently busy with a filming schedule including Guzaarish, Action Replay and Endhiran. Had Aish agreed, it would have been only her third item number appearance, following ‘Ishq Kamina’ (with Shahrukh Khan in the film Shakti – The Power) and ‘Kajra Re’ (with Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in the film Bunty Aur Babli).

Aishwarya’s loss is Sushmita’s gain. Sush will appear alongside Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Arjun Rampal in a dance number choreographed by Farah Khan. The music will be remixed by Shankar Ehsaan and Loy, to add today’s flavour while retaining a classic feel.

When it comes to the Bachchans, it all runs in the family.

The news is that Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan will do an item number in comedian-turned-director Sajid Khan’s upcoming multistarrer, Housefull.

The song to which Ash will be gyrating is said to be dad-in-law Amitabh Bachchan’s hit number, Apni toh jaise taise, from his 1981 hit Laawaris.

The film’s producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, has bought the rights of the song, though Sajid Khan is mum. “I am neither confirming nor denying the news. We will make an announcement at the right time,” says Khan.

Of late, the Bachchans have been going out of their way to push the prospects of each other. Last week, when Abhishek Bachchan made his debut as a TV show host–Bingo on Colors channel–Big B was his first guest.

Obviously, Abhishek needs all the push.

Ash had also recently played the dutiful wife by getting emotional about how Abhi would make a great father in real life. Ash’s comment came as Paa, the Bachchan home-production, was about to be released.

“Everybody has been asking me if Abhi would be a good paa. He is very real and rooted and a great human being, which I can absolutely relate to,” she had said.

Coming back to the item number, the buzz is that Ash has allotted four days for the shooting. The song is expected to be shot on a grand scale with over 500 extras. She will shoot the number after wrapping up a portion of her upcoming film, Vipul Shah’s Action Replay, with Akshay Kumar.

Kareena Kapoor was reportedly approached for the song but she had no dates. This will be Ash’s third item number after Ishq kameena in Shakti and Kajra re in Bunty Aur Babli.

Ash also has many films opposite Abhi.

They are busy wrapping up Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, and gearing up for Rajeev Menon’s Dhun, which is said to be a remake of Amitabh-Jaya Bachchan starrer, Abhimaan.

Abhishek, on his part, never misses an opportunity to praise his paa or wife. “Who can ever forget sharing the screen space with Mr Amitabh Bachchan?” he said on Bingo, while recalling his first day of shoot for Sarkar, their first film together. Abhishek has also aggressively tweeted about how Big B donated his winnings on Bingo to charity.

Abhishek has also been tweeting about how India doesn’t deserve a talent such as Amitabh Bachchan, after watching Rann. “We don’t deserve a talent like Mr Amitabh Bachchan. (I) Don’t think we can make movies to fit his talent,” were his exact words.

In a country like India that has produced luminaries from Satyajit Ray to A. R. Rahman, many movie buffs find Abhishek’s claim a little too stretched.

A fan shot back on Abhishek’s Twitter page. “It’s really lame to praise your own family in media, especially to this extent. You should let people praise him!” the fan said.

Abhishek has actually sparked off a debate on the issue–that India doesn’t deserve Big B–on Twitter. “Would love to hear everyone’s opinion on that,” he has tweeted. “My opinion? Well, its (sic) my Twitter page, so I have the freedom to write whatever I want and praise whoever I want. Don’t like it? Don’t read it,” Abhishek adds smugly.

Sajid Khan is on cloud nine ever since Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has agreed to do an item number for his upcoming film, Houseful that stars Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone. Ash has already allotted four days for the shooting of the item song.
A source said, “Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan spoke to Ash about the song, which will be the promotional track of the film. It however, remains to be seen if the song will be a part of the film or will it be just a promotional song. All the actors of the film Akshay, Deepika, Arjun, Ritesh, Jiah, Lara will be part of the song and it will be shot in a grand scale with over 500 extras and about 200 dancers on a huge set which will be installed at Filmcity. Ash will shoot for the song after she finishes her schedule for Action Replay.”

Sajid had first approached Kareena for the song. But the actress who was busy shooting for the remake of Hollywood film Step Mom. She had no free dates, added the source. This song will be Aishwarya’s third item song after Ishq Kamina (Shakti) and Kajrare (Bunty Aur Babli)
