Katrina Kaif or Aishwarya Rai: Who is a better item girl?

January 4th, 2011

By Jilawatan

Bollywood, these days, has got into the habit of making the A-list actresses come out of their comfort zones and don the cloaks of an item girl.
And after the sizzling sexy number from Malaika Arora Khan in ‘Munni badnaam hui’ from Dabangg, Katrina Kaif has been creating ripples with her scintillating performance and belly jig in the hit song ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ from ‘Tees Maar Khan.’
With two of the hottest songs of 2010 in ‘Munni’ and ‘Sheila’, many of the social networking sites are pitting them up and comparing the popularity of the two numbers. And if the results are anything to go by, then the farm fresh ‘Sheila’ is, currently, hogging all the limelight.
Katrina has lost oodles of weight and shed her clothes and inhibitions for this saucy song. Her stint reminds of an Aishwarya Rai who had gone the dare-bare way a few years back in ‘Dhoom 2’.
In fact, Aishwarya has earned some accolades as a successful item girl. Her ‘Krazy kiya re’ number was a rage amongst the youngsters and her songs like ‘Ishq kamina’ and ‘kajra re’ are still remembered with intense fervour.

2010 was a year that saw the maturing audience preferring content over stars. When small-budget films and intellectual scripts saw thumbs up from the public, some over hyped films were bloopers. Here’s a look at 5 disaster films of 2010:
1. Kites: Riding on huge hype and hoopla, ‘Kites’ came bringing in a smouldering chemistry between Greek God Hrithik and the Mexican curry Barbara, but dearth of a good screenplay made the film lick dust at box office. It was one of the biggest duds of 2010.

Aishwarya Rai: Salman Khan finally speaks of Aishwarya

Salman Khan, the ‘Dabangg’ actor has, of late, become clever and skilful in dodging private questions that the tabloid so recklessly poses before the mega stars. Though, Aishwarya and Salman are pretty adept in avoiding each other, Salman Khan has finally unzipped his lips and spoken of his ex flame.
When quizzed about how he feels towards Aishwarya post marriage, he is blatant and candid as he cites, “I am very happy she is married to Abhishek. He is a great guy from a good family. The best thing I can want for her is that she leads a happy life.”
Will Aishwarya respond to this? I am sure Aishwarya isn’t that bold and laidback and would show the interviewer a furious glance before skipping the question and moving on.
Salman, by the way, is also being harassed by the media for his break up with his long time girlfriend Katrina. A seemingly annoyed Salman bursts forth, “There are so many other problems affecting people in the country, why is Salman-Katrina relationship national news? I am not giving any clarifications, the media can write whatever it wants.”
For more one-liners from the super cool and laidback Salman, turn into the theatres this Friday as ‘Dabangg’ releases. Munni badnaam hui….darrrling tere liye…. (ENSNN)

Salman Khan couldn’t escape an awkward situation at a talent show when a girl admitted in front of the audience that she felt bad when Aishwarya Rai left him. As it was a promotional event for his next release Dabangg on TV, and the girl Shreyasi, who is a participant in the show Zee ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar’, is also his fan, Salman didn’t lose his cool.

Recently when some reporters asked Salman about his break-up with Katrina Kaif he got irritated. But during the shoot for the talent show he was nothing but a fun guy enjoying his Dabangg moments. It was Salman Khan special episode and Shreyasi sang a song from the film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam which fetched her many compliments. Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan clash at box office

August 13th, 2010

By Jilawatan

Salman Khan was keen on releasing Dabangg on Eid and, as the man wanted, the film is releasing on September 10. But it is not going to be solo release. The Aishwarya Rai-Rajnikant film Endhiran (‘The Robot’ in Hindi), which will release in three languages, is also set for release during that time.

This box office clash was also the reason why Karan Johar postponed the release of his production We Are Family to September 3. Siddharth Malhotra the director of We Are Family says, “Dabangg and Shankar’s Robot are releasing on Eid. So we have Bollywood’s Rajnikanth (Salman) and Rajnikanth on the same day. It just made no sense for us to release with them. We are coming a week earlier, aaram se.”

Ash versus Salman?

July 25th, 2010

By Jilawatan

For a few months, till Vipul Shah announced November 5 as D-Day, the grapevine had been buzzing about Action Replayy lining up for an Eid opening. And setting up a moonstruck clash between Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan, whose Dabangg had also zeroed in on September10.

However, the producer-director denies this, “Ash versus Salman? Eid was never an option. We had earlier locked on July 23 but the post-production is taking longer than expected because the film has a lot of special effects. So another Akshay Kumar starrer, Khatta Meetha, opened last Friday,” says Shah. “Diwali is a good time for our fun film.”
