5 Disaster films of 2010: Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai sink

2010 was a year that saw the maturing audience preferring content over stars. When small-budget films and intellectual scripts saw thumbs up from the public, some over hyped films were bloopers. Here’s a look at 5 disaster films of 2010:
1. Kites: Riding on huge hype and hoopla, ‘Kites’ came bringing in a smouldering chemistry between Greek God Hrithik and the Mexican curry Barbara, but dearth of a good screenplay made the film lick dust at box office. It was one of the biggest duds of 2010.

Katrina Kaif does an Aishwarya Rai with Sheila Ki Jawani

How often have we pitted Aishwarya Rai against Katrina Kaif? But finally the two actresses have got some commonality.
In fact, Katrina Kaif’s item act of ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ in the film ‘Tees Maar Khan’ is quite reminiscent of Aishwarya’s ‘Dhoom 2’ days.
Aishwarya had trimmed up her body and shed some pounds to look like a million buck bombshell in ‘Dhoom 2’ where she sizzled in her size zero avatar. She also scorched the silver screen in the item song ‘Krazy Kiya Re’ which burned the floors on all the discotheques.
Now Katrina, too, seems to have trodden on her arch rival’s path. After all, how longer could she keep her sexiness suppressed! Once Farah Khan was on the helm of affairs, it was only a matter of time that she would explore the sex quotient of Katrina. After all, don’t forget, it was Farah who had ripped open Shahrukh Khan’s shirt in ‘Om Shanti Om’.
Now, Katrina had to slim herself up and drop her clothes, inhibitions as well as weight for the scintillating number ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ which is earning rave reviews from both critics and masses. Katrina is the latest siren to have gone the size zero way.
It is to be seen if she can make the nation as ‘Krazy’ as Aish had done!

Aishwarya Rai: Is inhibition a barrier to her profession?

Bachchan bahu Aishwarya Rai may be one of the leading actresses of Bollywood but she has never quite been able to shed her inhibitions and become a real pro. This is the age where actors like Aamir Khan go to any extent to provide authenticity to their characters.
But Aishwarya’s coyness may have proved a hurdle to a free-flowing more exuberant acting career. Unlike Angelina Jolie, with whom she is often compared, Aishwarya is not comfortable about screen intimacy.

Guzaarish actors Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai took a long time before working with each other in ‘Dhoom 2’. But once they did, their pairing which was being considered dubious simply, scorched the silver screen.
They recaptured the magic in Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Jodha Akbar’ where they sizzled yet again in the garbs of the royal figurines. And Sanjay Leela Bhansali got them together again for the 3rd time for his ‘Guzaarish’. And ecstatically so, they haven’t disappointed!

Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan: Romeo and Juliet of Guzaarish

Guzaarish, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film that hits theatres on 19th November, is spawning headlines in gossip galleries as its release date draws nearer.
And with vigorous and aggressive promotions keeping everyone on his or her toe, director Bhansali is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the purity of his film’s characters.
Hrithik and Aishwarya are the two chief protagonists of the film and the romance between them has been presented in a very chaste and platonic way. There is subtlety and complete purity in their romance. Sanjay was determined to manifest their love in such a passionate and pristine way that he incorporated dialogues from Franco Zeffirelli’s 1968 classic Romeo and Juliet.

Ash-Hrithik’s lip service continues

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan carry their chemistry forward after “Dhoom 2″ and “Jodhaa Akbar” in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ” Guzaarish”, and it looks ‘sizzling’ right from the start!

This first look from the film has Ash lighting up and Hrithik looking on, in a charmingly old-world setting. But we wonder how the Bachchan bahu’s cigarette act – that too with Roshan Junior – will be received, considering her fleeting smooch with Hrithik in “Dhoom 2″, even before she officially became the Bachchan bahu, reportedly had Abhishek in a fit and the khandaan asking for the scene to be removed. And movies with smoking scenes having run into rough waters with the authorities earlier (health ministry, Censor Board, et al), let’s see if this scene hits the screens at all! Meanwhile, Ash’s lip service with Hrithik continues…

The two worlds of Aishwarya Rai

As the star of Endhiran, India’s most expensive movie and her latest, Aishwarya Rai talks to Kevin Maher about bridging the cultural gap between Bollywood and Hollywood, and how her high-profile celebrity marriage is no publicity stunt.

Like some glittering celestial orb, frozen in the firmament, Aishwarya Rai is caught between the powerful pull of two worlds. In one, she is the Bollywood Queen, daughter of a nation, a former Miss World turned movie icon and now married to India’s golden son, Abhishek Bachchan. When she kisses on screen she ignites a national controversy (more on that later). And her every move is tracked by a ravenous and sometimes savage media (fake reports of her death in a car crash caused countrywide consternation in 2006).

Hrithik, Ash’s next on mercy killing!

The crackling screen chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai was evident once again in Sanjay Leela Bhansaali’s ” Guzaarish”, the first look of which was revealed here Thursday. After “Dhoom 2″ and “Jodhaa Akbar”, they seem set to create magic on celluloid once more.

The two teamed up for the first time in the 2006 hit action thriller “Dhoom 2″. From critics to audiences, everyone raved about their on-screen chemistry and the two repeated the same in the historical romance “Jodhaa Akbar”.

The teaser of the film, co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Bhansali, was extremely impressive thanks to brilliant cinematography and interesting music by the director himself.

Hrithik, continuing his long hair and beared look from “Kites”, looked attractive in the teaser, while Aishwarya exuded elegance and panache.

The look of the film is artistic and creates an old world charm.
