Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Tamil superstar Rajnikanth today launched the music of their forthcoming film Endhiran here amid a grand musical extravaganza.

The 36-year-old actress looked ravishing in a maroon churidar-kameez at the event which was also attended by the film’s director Shankar and composer A R Rahman. The show had a high tech tone with digital music and men dressed as robots on the stage.

Endhiran (Robot) is a mega budget Tamil film, touted to be one of the most expensive ones ever made and is loaded with special effects.

The music launch, held at the sprawling Putrajaya convention centre outside Kuala Lumpur, was also attended by lyricist Vairamuthu, Sun TV chief Kalanidhi Maran, Tamil stars Jeyam Ravi, Radha Ravi and Ramya Krishnan.

Curious about Endhiran?

Well, here’s something to whet your appetite. The poster of the Tamil science fiction film directed by S Shankar and starring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles is finally out. Danny Denzongpa too is in the cast.

From the looks of the poster and on the set pictures, the film sure looks like a potboiler. The budget too is big with a planned worldwide release on September 3. The dubbed versions: Robot in Hindi and a Telugu version will also be released on the same day.

Shooting for the film recently concluded and now the film is currently undergoing post-production work.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and southern superstar Rajnikant shared a great rapport on the sets of Shankar’s magnum opus Endhiran, that is set to release soon.

Aishwarya, who plays the lead opposite super star Rajnikant, is so overwhelmed with the actor, that before bidding adieu on the last day of the shoot, she said goodbye to him in a true blue traditional Indian style. Reportedly, the actress touched his feet and sought his blessing. Apparently, she saw a father figure in him.

Endhiran is a forthcoming Tamil science-fiction film directed by S Shankar. The director has previously made superhit films like Gentleman, Kadhalan, Jeans, Boys, Anniyan and Sivaji. The film, starring Rajinikant and Aishwarya in the lead roles, has been made at a cost of Rs 200 crore. Endhiran is expected to be the most expensive film in Indian cinema, surpassing that of the 2009 Bollywood film Blue.

So far, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had a bad start in 2010. Her movie, Raavan and Ravanan with her hubby Abhishek Bachchan tanked at the box office. There are still three movies slated to release this year. Already, the actress finished shooting Endhiran where she is paired up with Rajinikanth for the first time.

Her other two major releases in this year are- Action Replayy and Gujarish.

Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai will be coming up with South India’s leading actor Rajinikanth in Science fiction movie Endhiran that will be directed by S Shankar. I have come to know that the budget of the movie is quite massive and will make it one of the most expensive films ever in Bollywood.

The movie is based on American Film Bicentennial Man that featured Robin Williams and Sam Neill. The movie will also have music by AR Rahman, and will be released in Tamil language.

Something interesting to note is the fact that Bachchan family had recently avoided the International Indian Film Festival in Sri Lanka and one of the reasons could be the fact that it could have affected the family relations with the Tamil Film Industry.

Surprisingly while giving the blessing, the 60-year-old actor Rajinikanth told the actress that he’s like her father-in-law.

Shankar’s ‘Endhiran’, which has been under production for almost two years, was completed on July 7.

After having tirelessly worked on the film for two years, Ash was supposedly finding it hard to leave the place as she became close to each and every person in the unit.

Insiders revealed that after the last shot, Aishwarya touched Kollywood superstar’s feet, to seek his blessings. Though Rajinikanth felt awkward initially, as the actor didn’t know how to respond, he later blessed the actress.

Rajinikanth would be with Aishwarya Rai for the movie Endhiran which is going to be one of the most expensive movies ever in the country. Endhiran is a sci fi film that will be based on Bicentennial Man.

Rajinikanth will be taking up a youth role in the movie almost half his age and with tons of make up to hide up his real age. I have not seen any of his movies however have heard a lot of him being in action in movies in the South Indian Film Industry.

Previously I did not knew about his age but I was expecting him to be quite young considering how he is portrayed in the films. However when I saw his real picture I was quite shocked, he does not look anyway near to what is in the movie. Frail, weak and old is what is Rajinikanth.

It looks like Suhasini Mani Ratnam is in the news for some controversies. It was rumored that the dialogue writer might just be doing a film which stars Aishwarya Rai Bachhan in the lead. And the entirety of Kollywood sat up and was buzzing that after Endhiran, this would be Aishwarya?s next film. Apparently Suhasini and Ash are close to each other, straight back to Aishwarya’s debut days, when she had appeared in the famous film Iruvar that was her first movie.

However, the rumors were ultimately rendered to be false. Both Suhasini and Aishwarya categorically denied any such plans. Suhasini said that she has no wish to direct Aishwarya in any movie as such, and she would not be doing any film with her in the future. However, she said that the late Vishnuvaradhan was interested in her making a Kannada film, which would have been produced by the late legend himself. However, due to his sad demise, that was no longer an option.

Aishwarya Rai, was recently in news for establishing good terms with most of the director’s wives she has worked with. News was there that Aishwaray, who was seen in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan was offered a movie by Ratnam’s second half Suhasini Ratnam.
Buzz was there that inspite of Raavan being a flop at the box-office; things are all fine between Ash and the director’s wife that they there are sharing an amazingly good level. So much so that the Suhasini was keen to direct the Bachchan bahu in her project, that would have been her directorial debut.
However, latest reports from the Suhasini Ratnam’s spokeperson have come in that there is no such plan as of now. Sushini is quite busy as she has some other commitments and thus she could not even think of any new project at the time.
Though everything seems to be fine between Ash and Ratnam, there’s no movie ffor Ash from Mani Ratnam’s second half.
Meanwhile, Aishwarya has some films in her kitty like Action Replayy, Guzaarish and Endhiran.
