Endhiran, starring Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai, is being filmed at a hectic pace. Director Shankar has been working hard and hopes to complete the film by end of this year. It is believed that Shankar had not slept for several days during shooting schedules, as he wanted to make sure that everything comes out perfectly.

But one thing that everyone is happy about is that Aishwarya Rai has picked up Tamil very quickly and is now fluent with the language. Apparently, Rajni was truly impressed and said that he had never seen anyone from North India speak in Tamil so well!

Well, regional films are not a problem at all for Aishwarya Rai, as she has even done a Bengali film earlier.

Way to go Aishwarya! Tamil indeed is a beautiful language that can be picked up easily!

Rajnikant’s mega budget next Endhiran starring him along side Aishwarya Rai seems to have garnered a lot of curiosity as the makers are keeping the production a close guarded secret. But the audience interest about it seems to be multiplying day by day as inside details are being leaked out. We managed to find out one such inside info about Aishwarya Rai’s character in the film.

Our sources reveal, “After having learnt sword fights for her English movie The Last Legion, Aishwarya has been training herself in Karate for Endhiran. A noted stunt master Ramesh who has been running a Japan Shito-Ryu karate school in the South for over 30 years, which is affiliated to the World Karate Federation is training the actress for the movie. Ramesh is teaching Aishwarya the basics of Karate for now. In the movie Aishwarya Rai and the other girls in the film will be learning Karate from her hero. Rajnikant is already trained in Karate so he will not have to train himself. Some interesting scenes were shot recently in the VIT University in Chennai.”

Remember director Shankar’s previous film ‘Anniyan’, in which Vikram’s character of Ambi transforms to Remo just to win his childhood love, Gayathri’s (played by Sadha) affection?

If reports are to be believed, it is a very similar premise upon which the Robot Rajini is created in ‘Endhiran’. Rajini plays a scientist cum professor in a college and is smitten by Aishwarya Rai. But the actress does not reciprocate and this is when Rajini receives an offer to make a robot. The professor uses this chance to create a robot which is his look alike and makes it modern for Ash to like.

Scenes in the film, which show the robot Rajini buying modern clothes in City Centre or styling its hair in a posh salon in Adyar are said to be thorough complete laugh riots, also similar to Rajini dabbing Fair and Lovely or doing face packs to look fair in ‘Sivaji’-The Boss’.

Following her trip to Tinsel Town and the release of ‘Pink Panther 2′, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan is back in Bollywood with a heavy duty call sheet in hand. The actress, who was recently felicitated with the prestigious Padma Shri award in Delhi, is set to resume shooting in Mumbai for Vipul Shah’s ‘Action Replay’.

Meanwhile, she has her hands full with Mani Ratnam’s much awaited ‘Raavan’, opposite her hubby Abhishek. The movie is scheduled to be released in 2010, and is being shot simultaneously in Tamil under the title of ‘Ashokavanam’. Though the cast in the Tamil version differ slightly, the main characters are being essayed by the likes of Vikram, Govinda,Prithviraj Sukumaran, Prabhu Ganesan and Manisha Koirala. It’s being claimed that Raavan/ Ashokavanam is a modern day version of the Ramayana, with Ash as Sita.

It seems unusual that one of the most romantic off screen movie stories – that of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – has not been seen in a straightforward romantic situation on-screen since their marriage.

Soon, we’ll be seeing them together in a tale of forbidden love in Raavan. But the pair are quite happy with this situation. “It’s wonderful because even we as actors, over the years, have been gravitating towards experiences as characters in a lot of movies,” says Aishwarya.

As well as Raavan, Aishwarya has also been working hard on Endhiran with Southern legend Rajnikanth and she has talked about how excited she feels to have the opportunity to work with him.

“We’ve all grown up watching Rajinikanth films and all those moves – it’s been exciting, everyone around me was excited about me working with him,” she explains.

Sun Pictures is all set to make director Shankar’s dream of making it to Hollywood come true. It’s on the verge of a tie-up with HBO which will see’ Endhiran’ being released in the West simultaneously.

‘Endhiran’ will be subtitled in English and released in Hollywood simultaneously, making it the biggest opening for the film industry. Rajinikanth’s ‘Sivaji’ had raked in good money overseas and has made things easier for Shankar.

With promotion in full swing, the film is progressing well after having suffered due to the recent cyclone in Chennai. The crew is about to finish the shoot at VIT University College in Vellore. The next stop is Top Slip and Valparai and the crew will then move to Kulu Manali next year.

Singer Yogi B who has made his presence felt in the Tamil film industry with some spectacular songs, has been roped in to sing a song for the mammoth production ‘Endhiran’ that stars superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

A. R. Rahman who is the music director of the film has confirmed to Indiaglitz that Yogi B has indeed sung a song for the film. Moreover, he added that the Malaysian singer was in his studio a while back with regards to Endhiran. A. R. Rahman was working for the Aamir Khan starrer ‘Ghajini’ at that time. Though Yogi B was there was Endhiran, his services were used for a background score ‘Run’ that features in ‘Ghajini’.

Everything about ‘Endhiran’ is shrouded with complete secrecy as is the case with every Shankar film. ‘Endhiran’ produced by Sun Pictures will be ready for release in 2010.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s dates have become a big issue. She and her husband Abhishek Bachchan had canceled their shooting for Mani Ratnam’s film ‘Raavan’ owing to the illness of megastar Amitabh Bachchan on his birthday, last month.

The shooting of the film had to be completely rescheduled.

But the juggling act of the busy actress is now making things a little difficult for director Shankar.  This in spite of Ash working with him in one of her earlier films ‘Jeans’ years ago.

Sources say, “Endhiran, which stars Ash opposite Rajinikanth, has been forced to call off a shoot as Ash was busy shooting for Mani along with her hubby. S Shankar had scheduled a shooting stint at Kulu Manali, which was to start on November 14. He wanted to shoot a few sequences with his leading stars in this valley but had to change his plans. While southern superstar, Rajini, was available, Ash was still holed up in Kochi shooting for Mani’s film.”
