Actors continue to enjoy cult status irrespective of their marital status while it has been widely believed that men stop fantasizing about their actresses once she gets married.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the gorgeous bahu of Amitabh Bachchan who plays lead in Shankar’s upcoming flick ‘Enthiran: The Robot’ opposite Tamil superstar Rajnikanth, obliged the producer by launching the music of another Tamil production ‘Rettaichuzhi’ in Chennai.

The film is being directed by talented Thamira, while veteran Balchander and Bharathiraaja play pivotal roles in the flick. Aishwarya endeared herself to the audience when she spoke in fluent Tamil amidst her largely English language speech on the occasion. As the film is being produced by Shankar, who had earlier directed her in ‘Jeans’ and presently doing the same in ‘Enthiran’, Aishwarya could not refuse and obliged him with her presence.

However, her stunning beauty and impeccabale manners (she stood on spotting veteran Balchander and others) had the audiences mesmerized throughout the function. She also promised that she would love to watch the movie in leisure. In fact, Aishwarya Rai was in Chennai with her mother Brinda Rai, for the shooting of her upcoming film ‘Enthiran’, which is being made in both Tamil and Hindi languages by Shankar.

She is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood but Aishwarya Rai Bachchan says that her stint in the Tamil film industry is an important part of her career and a great learning experience.
The 36-year-old actress may have reached the very top of the industry, but says that working with ace Tamil director Shankar in Jeans “taught” her a lot.
“Working in Jeans remains an integral part. It taught me so much technically and content-wise and now I am having a wonderful time working in Enthiran, the sci-fi flick starring Tamil superstar Rajinikant and directed by Shankar,” said the actress. In one of her rare public appearances in Chennai on March 16, Aishwarya lauded Shankar, saying that “he makes incredible movies.”
The actress, who is now working on her third project with celebrated filmmaker Mani Ratnam in Ravana, started off her address in chaste Tamil, greeting the audience, but soon switched over to English.
Veteran Tamil directors K Balachander and Bharathirajaa, both of whom are credited with redefining the content of Tamil cinema with their revolutionary and rustic subjects, share the screen space for the first time in the film, being directed by Shankar’s associate Thamira.

It is heard that Karthik, the loverboy of 90s, has arrived in Salakudi (also referred to as Chalakkudy), Kerala to participate in Mani Ratnam’s Ashokavanam (tentative title). Kollywood grapevine asserts that in Ashokavanam, Mani Ratnam is trying to bring together his ever-reliable heroes – Karthik and Prabhu – with whom he made many wonderful films. Mani Ratnam’s Agninatchathiram, in which both these heroes teamed up, is quite popular even today!

Just as Shankar is keeping his Enthiran under wraps, Mani Ratnam too is taking great care not to divulge any information on his bilingual to maintain viewers’ curiosity levels.

But it can be firmly said that so far a good portion of the film has been shot with Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Prithviraj, and Vyapuri. Both Hindi and Tamil versions are being shot simultaneously.

Instead, the superstar will be in Goa, starting the talkie portion of his Shankar magnum opus Enthiran with Aishwarya Rai, and a few of the supporting cast members like VMC Haneefa and Kalabhavan Mani. The unit has taken over a resort on the Goa coastline and art director Sabu Cyril has constructed huge futuristic sets, where the shoot will go on for the next two weeks.
