Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently played the perfect Bachchan bahu as she cooked for hubby Abhishek Bachchan and the entire cast of the film ‘Game’ in Greece. The cast of the film, which includes Kangna Ranaut, Jimmy Shergill, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Shahana Goswami, Gauhar Khan and the film’s co-producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, swear by the culinary skills of the gorgeous lady.

Talking about their cooking spree, Abhishek said to a news daily, “Whenever we had spare time, we did a little cooking for everyone. Apart, of course, from cycling, taking walks and playing volleyball on the beach.”

Talking about the film shooting experience, Abhishek said, “Shooting in Samos was an experience in itself, especially the action sequences, as we had all modes of water transport being used.”

Well, with so much love around and your beautiful wife cooking for you, watch out for your weight Abhi!

The lastest news pouring in from the Bachchan camp is that their bahu is scheduled to perform on a song from her pop in laws film of the yesteryears. The song ‘Apni to Aise Taise, Thodi Aise Ya Waise’ for the film ‘Houseful’. Amitabh Bachchan had performed on this song with yester year actress Aruna Irani on this number and the song was a sure shot hit. As the Bachchan Parivaar had gone for the just released film ‘Raan’ where it was confirmed that Aishwarya would in deed perform on that number.

Going retro has been in vogue since a long time in the film industry. Many top actresses have performed on song items from yester year films. There is a classic example of ‘Don’where Amitabh Bachchan was the protagonist and the item number ‘Yeh Mera Dil Pyar Ka Deewana’ was performed by none other than the classic of all performers Helen. Then in Farhan Akhtar’s remake ‘Don’ with Shahrukh Khan as the protagonist it was Kareena Kapoor who had done the retro number with equal gusto and appeal. There are innumerable other song items that have been repeated in films with popular ones being put in as Antakshari sequences.
This is the first time that a daughter in law is getting to perform in a song from her father in laws film so, a history of sorts is however going to be created.

Recently Aishwarya has been really busy shooting for her forth coming films that she had to take a decision on the role in the film called ‘Crooked’ by producer Ritesh Sidhwani.This film has Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role with Sarah Jane Dias as his leading lady. The other actresses in the film are Shahana Goswami of the Farhan Akhtar Starrer film ‘Rock On’, Gul Panang. The role that Ash was supposed to play was poised opposite to Abhishek’s character.
In the film she was supposed to catch the gang of thieves and Abhishek was on top of the gang. Thus, according to reports, the role of coming bang opposite to Abhishek did not go well with Ash’s idea of acting in the same film as her husband, so she was not hesitant to give up the role which was lapped up by the Pakistani beauty Sonya Jehan.
Another version of the story goes that since the shooting of this film started on the 14th of January, Aishwarya was very busy with her other commitments and so she had to let go the gutsy role from her kitty. Some grapevine reports also suggest that the director and producer have confirmed the replacement saying that Sonya was brought in as she also has fair skin, light eyes and is very pretty, which fitted the character that was required for the film.

Whatever the reason, no one minds as long as the replaced girl plays out her part well. The other news coming in is that even Kareena Kapoor is playing a character who is bang against Saif Ali Khan’s character in the film’ Agent Vinod’ which is a Shriram Raghavan film. Now with couples coming in as bang opposites in their films we wonder what next?

Crooked, a Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani production is due to start filming from January 14 next year. The film was going to see Bollywood couple, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles, but the latest news is that Aishwarya has opted out as her dates coincide with another project – Vipul Shah’s Action Replay.

Action Replay will see Aishwarya sharing the big screen with action man, Akshay Kumar. Since she’s given this film priority over Crooked, it leaves the producers and directors without a leading lady. Sources reveal that Sarah Jane, former Miss India (2007) has been casted in the film which is apparently inspired by the Matt Damon-starrer, Bourne films.

When asked about her role in the film, Jane refrained from commenting and just said, “Yes, I did meet the filmmakers. But I can’t say anything more than that, because I don’t know. It’s up to them to confirm the news first and make the official announcement.”

Director, Abhinay Deo was unavailable for comment as well. Farhan says that because of other pending projects, Crooked can’t be delayed any further. He has his sister, Zoya Akhtar’s Spain-based film coming up starring him along with Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol which will begin filming on April 5. Don 2 will begin filming in September 2010.

Farhan Akhtar production Crooked has been in the news because it was supposed to star real life couple Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan. However, he was told that Aishwarya had date problems and couldn’t do the film.

Names of Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone were speculated as replacements for Ash. But surprisingly, it was VJ-turned-model and former Miss India Sarah Jane who has been signed for the film. Sarah is currently doing a southern film.

However, director Abhinav Deo and producers Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani are unwilling to comment.

They plan to announce details soon in a grand launch. The movie also stars Gul Panag.

Anecdote about the film “Crooked” are that it is inspired from a Hollywood flick “The Bourne Identity”. The film will have a 40-day non-stop schedule in the beginning. The film is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. It also stars Jimmy Shergill, Boman Irani and Gul Panag. It will be shot in Thailand, Greece, Turkey and UK.

Following her trip to Tinsel Town and the release of ‘Pink Panther 2′, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan is back in Bollywood with a heavy duty call sheet in hand. From the past to the future, Ash’s next project is S. Shankar’s flamboyant ‘Endhiran’ with superstar Rajnikanth. The movie is being shot in exotic locales and is going to be loaded with sci-fi special effects. Ash’s being paid a cool Rs 6 crores for the film, making her the highest paid actress in India. As of now she’s also signed on for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next production with Hrithik Roshan. Also in the pipeline are Abhinay Deo’s next film to be produced by Farhan Akhtar, and Vishal Bharadwaj’s next directorial venture.
