Now that the year 2010 is over, we can sit back and look at some of the memorable and not-so-memorable flicks that came and went away, some spellbinding us on the way while others failing to live upto our expectations. Two of the most hyped films of the year that flopped at the box office starred Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai. Have a look:
1. Hrithik Roshan: Hrithik Roshan starrer film ‘Kites’ was undoubtedly the most hyped film of the year. Directed by Anurag Basu, it starred the Mexican bombshell Barbara Mori and spawned whispers of a secret romance between Hrithik and the foreign lass. Made with a budget crossing Rs 50 crore, it was a film that was hugely awaited but the sluggish pace of the film, dearth of a good storyline and linguistic barrier dug out a grave for Kites.
2. Aishwarya Rai: Aishwarya Rai starrer film ‘Raavan’ was another flick that had been in the news ever since its making. Besides, it brought the trio of Aishwarya, hubby Abhishek and director Mani Ratnam after their hit ‘Guru’ and expectations were sky high. But alas! Abhishek failed to impress the critics with his portrayal of the ten headed Beera (Raavan) and the daggers were out leading to Raavan’s beheading.

Another hairy tale for you. Only this time it’s the hero who’s tangled in the tale. During an interview Aishwarya Rai Bachchan revealed that getting into the ‘hair’ of her retro character in Action Replay, was tougher for Akshay Kumar than it was for her.
“I was happy that for a change, even the actor had to spend hours with his hair-piece. It is usually the actress who has to go through that. I have worked in many movies where the lead actor has a character arc, which transforms, and even goes from young to old. Like Abhishek in Guru and Hrithik in Jodhaa Akbar, where he spent hours getting into the look of his character.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the beauty of bollywood, is one of those gals, who is naturally blessed with a thick crowning glory!
Almost every time, that the star has appeared in reel or real life, there have been speculations as to what her hair do would be.
Now, Aishwarya, who is from the southern part of India, is naturally blessed with her thick and beautiful stresses.
She has also almost made sure to appear in long hair dos. Her roles, most of the times, has seen her portraying a girl from the crux of Indian society, and her hair dos, which have almost been stuck to long and middle length, have always contributed to a large extent, in making her look the eternal beauty that she always is considered to be, by most film buffs!
However, as Ash is also the brand Ambassador for a very reputed hair color cosmetic brand, she has also tried out many shades of color in her films and in real life as well, and every time, she has emerged a true winner, wounding a lot of hearts with her killer looks.

In her latest film Raavan in Hindi and Raavanan in Tamil, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays Ragini, the wife of a police officer who is abducted.
It’s a role which involved working in tough terrain, heavy rains and amongst creatures of the jungle. In this interview, she speaks about her role, the challenges of working in a bilingual and her co-artists. Excerpts of a teleconference.
All about your character in Raavan and Raavanan
There has been a lot of talk that my character is based on a modern day Sita from “Ramayan”, which is not true. I think all the stories can be drawn parallel to our epics because at the end it is all about inter-personal relationship. My character Ragini is Mani’s perception of this strong willed woman abducted by Beera. And the story is about the dynamics between the three characters- Beera, Dev and Ragini.

They are becoming a habit with each other. The husband-wife duo of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan confess that they thoroughly enjoy working with each other.
Guru, Sarkar Raj and now Raavan… this couple has been having a field day working together. But the beauty of this combination is that they don’t carry their work home. When curious journos asked this superstar couple whether they discuss movies in the confines of their bedroom, the couple jointly said, “No, we leave our work behind in the studios. Home is our personal space… and we have a lot to talk about other than work.” They sound quite like Kajol and Ajay Devgn, another couple that revels in each other’s company at home. No shop talk there.

Now, if an actress is as beautiful as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, then there are bound to be flings. However, the actress has been very lucky, as she has been the star of all of her boyfriends eyes, some even having tiffs over her.
Take for example our macho star Salman Khan, the two that is, Salman and Aishwarya worked in a romantic film ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, and became the best of pals. Slowly, the friendship blossomed into the most romantic tale of all.
The pair was amongst the best that bollywood could ever boast of. However, as they say, all good things come to an end; this couple had to bear the brunt of their relationship, due to certain problems like over possessiveness. Thus, after a turbulent time with the couple breaking up, it was a sad end to a beautiful love story.
Just as Aishwarya was nursing her wounds of sorrow in private, came a young energetic guy in the form of Vivek Oberoi.
As the two worked together in films, the closeness grew. There was a fondness that developed between the couple which soon was on the verge of blossoming into love. But, an ugly episode, with Salman giving in numerable missed calls to vivek, and Vivek in turn calling a press conference to claim that Salman had threatened him, completely put off Miss Ash.
Thus, the relationship of Ash and Vivek ended abruptly as well.
After everyone was almost forgetting this nasty episode in the film industry, came good news. Ashwarya and Abhishek, who had worked in films like ‘Dhai Akshar Prem Ke’, Guru’etc, were to get married. This was quite a surprise to most, but it did happen and now, may the couple live happily ever after!

Heard this??Abhishek Bachchan, the handsome hunk of bollywood and husband of gorgeous Aishwarya Rai who wowed audiences with his acts in flicks like ‘Yuva’, ‘Dhoom’, ‘Guru’ etc, wants to increase his canvas and work in Hollywood flicks if scripts were engaging for his liking.

Abhi went a step further and predicted that the day was not far when Hollywood biggies would be doing roles (Arnold Schwarzenegger has already done in ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ starring Kareena and Akshay Kumar) and dancing in them along with forty other dancers.

She was crowned the most beautiful woman in the world, but only after her performance in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was she praised for her acting skills as well as her good looks. Films like Devdas, Dhoom2, Guru and Jodhaa Akbar helped establish her firmly in Bollywood. Having worked in international productions like Bride & Prejudice, The Mistress of Spices and The Pink Panther 2, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is also one of the best known Indian faces in Hollywood. Married into the first family of the Hindi film industry, she is looking forward to releases like Raavan and Guzaarish this year, besides endorsing Longines.
What are you reading at the moment?
These days I am only busy reading scripts and nothing else.
If you woke up and found you’d turned into a man, you would…
Well, my approach would definitely be no different than that of most women. I would be very shocked!
