“All that glitters, is not gold,” well this proverb is apt for all film stars. While on their film promotional interviews, movie stars need to answer multiple questions, most of which are ridiculous and out of the context.

Recently, the gorgeous Aishwarys Rai was on a promotional spree for her upcoming flick, ‘Robot’. While she has been quite polite and cool about a few questions concerned with working with Salman Khan and the success of ‘Dabanng’, she did tackle a few ridiculous queries too.

What are you going to give Mr Bachchan on his birthday on October 11?

We are here for the promotion of ‘Robot’. Can we talk about Robot now and other questions later?

Looks like Aishwarya does not wish to entertain anybody poking their nose into her personal affairs. Usually she is politically correct but this time, she surely lost her cool.

The latest buzz is that Hrithik and Aishwarya will lend their voices for their upcoming film. The beautiful coincidence is that neither have ever sung before for a film.

Bhansali sure knows how to excite the audience enough for his latest movie!

Hrithik-Aish on-screen chemistry surely helped Dhoom:2 and Jodhaa Akbar’s standing at the box office. Will their melodious voices create the same magic for Guzarish? Only time will answer this question, but nevertheless, we wish you both all the best for your acting and singing careers!

Salman Khan, our macho man of bollywood, was stunned at the sight of his ex- girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at Mehboob studious and did not know what to do for a moment.

Sources from the studio say that Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai looked into each other eyes for a moment but immediately started looking away, as if some shocking current had passed though. Aishwarya Rai, eager to move out of such embarrassing situation, quickly stepped towards her van, parked nearby.

Sources from the set of ‘Veer’ say that Salman Khan was too shocked after the chance encounter and did not utter a single word for the whole evening, except for delivering his lines during shooting of the promotional sequence. Salman Khan, as everybody knows in the industry, has not still forgiven or forgotten Vivek Oberoi for Aishwarya episode, not to talk of Aishwarya herself. In fact, the pain was writ large on his face.

On the other hand, Aishwarya Rai, who is now married to Abhishek Bachchan and is daughter- in- law of legendary Big B, seemed perturbed by the situation and looked eager to wriggle out of tricky situation. And she did that this by speeding away in her van.

In fact, Aishwarya Rai was at the Mehboob studio for the shoot of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming flick ‘Guzarish’ opposite Hrithik Roshan.. Salman arrived on the scene to shoot a promotional clip for flick ‘Veer’. Aishwarya was coming out, while Salman Khan had just alighted from his car.

Sources say that Sallubhai looked in good mood and was talking on his mobile with a smile. But when he saw Aishwarya Rai coming out from the opposite direction, everything vanished from his face and he kept quiet till he finished the shots.

It may be recalled that Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai had given a super hit film together ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ under Snajay Leela Bhansali’s direction. It was also the starting point of their roller coaster romance.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan doesn’t let her guard down. And her smiles are measured these days. Is it because, as speculated, she doesn’t want laugh lines on her pretty face? Ash just flashes her pearlies in reply.

In Delhi to launch the new watch for luxury brand Longines, Ash is visibly tired of the one question everyone seems to be asking her — whether the recent weight gain indicates good news? “Oh, I knew this question will pop-up. We are married and in due time will be parents too. When it happens, you will definitely know. Right now it’s not the time.”

The actress minces no words in denying she’s at the helm of affairs at the revived ABCL banner. When asked if it’s true that ABCL ought to be rechristened as Aishwarya Bachchan Corporation Limited, she shoots back, “I don’t know whose figment of imagination that is. ABCL is what ABCL was.”

We remind her it won’t be a bad idea to have the name of the ghar ki bahu in the banner for good luck and she says, “Every bahu (daughter-in-law) in India is considered ghar ki Lakshmi. Does that mean everyone changes his or her company name to incorporate the bahu’s name? No na?”

She has two big movies—Raavan and Guzarish in the pipeline, but what Aishwarya seems most upbeat about is the opportunity to play the lead in Ben Kingsley’s Mumtaaz. “It’s an honour to work with someone like Ben Kingsley. The film is however still in the scripting stage.” She is also all praises for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzarish, “Sanjay’s characters are so strong that it is immaterial how much screen time you get. This is my third film with Sanjay and it has the strongest characterisation.”

On the subject of rumours about her considering doing filmmaker Javed Khan’s venture with ex-beau Salman Khan, Ash chose to stay mum while her spokesperson Archana Sadanand had this to say. “No way. No such movie is happening. Publicity seekers just cook up stories. Ash has no time to pay attention to such things.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, while endorsing a watch brand recently, said in the press meet that her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan is her inspiration when it comes to punctuality. The actress has been quoted as saying, “his commitment and dedication is an example for everyone to follow.”

The former beauty queen, who recently completed the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, has moved on to the sets of Guzarish where she will be sharing the screen space with Hrithik Roshan. Guzarish is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhasali.

Whoever said, married actresses have no career in tinsel town should eat their words. Aishwarya Rai has proved everyone wrong with an exciting professional life post marriage. The actress has completed Mani Ratnam’s Raavan and has moved on to Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Guzarish with Hrithik Roshan. She has got impressive advertising campaigns in her kitty and is actively involved in the promotional activities of AB corp. which is her home production in their current venture Paa directed by Balki.

The icing of the cake appears to be a latest grandiose historical project on the life of Mughal King Shah Jahan in which Ash will don the role of his beloved wife Mumtaz. Ben Kingsley who starred in Gandhi will be Shah Jahan. For Ash, doing historical characters is not something new as she has essayed such characters earlier in her career.

A tale of Few Good Men and Women this certainly doesn’t look like. Salman Khan has finally publicly spoken about about the public statements issued by Aishwarya Rai during 2002/2003 where she in support of Vivek Oberoi’s then famous press conference even claimed Khan had physically assaulted the South Indian actress, who’s nowadays shooting her Guzarish with Hrithik Roshan.

Recently to a media channel, Salman Khan said addressing the issue, “Obviously in a fight, I am going to be angry. I want to give it my best shot. I don’t think that she would have survived it. So no it’s not true.” Meanwhile, Oberoi who had called the public press conference in 2003 and alleged then that Khan had backed off from ‘fighting’ Oberoi for real, and had suggested Khan to go to jail or mental hospital, and had then routinely defended his press conference decision over the next several years after 2003, now has done a 180 degree about turn and changed his tune. Oberoi is nowadays suggesting he too was ‘manipulated’ by the actress into his decision.

Problem for Oberoi is videotape of his press conference is still all online, as are number of his interviews both in tv and print, reasserting his accusations and behavior over a number of years after that. And he himself accused Khan of a number of criminal things against him that are either true or false. If false, he is basically admitting to lying to the public over a number of years despite being a grown adult himself. Thereby raising the following basic question: Was he lying then? Or is he lying now?

Khan has a host of his own problems apart from Rai and Oberoi as well, such as a criminal case for which he has already been sentenced to prison for (he’s pleading for an appeal), and a possible homicide case where he ran over homeless people causing death of a man. Both could at any time ensure he spends the latter part of his life in dark cells worrying about big, dark, unclean men who would look nothing like cinema actresses, approaching him in jail there.

Nonetheless, looking back it is difficult to tell who was telling the truth in this public charade and who was lying. Perhaps they all were (Salman Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Aishwarya Rai) each lying to suit their interests at various points in time. Usually there is a need to create heroes/heroine out of these things, when in this case, there maybe no one here exactly worth defending.

But if we were to give them benefit of doubt for second, it is apparent the focus of the public contention was Aishwarya Rai. And for whatever reason, she is not popular with individuals who she actually associated with during those years. And though she is in a number of films, the ‘Jodha Bai’ actress does not appear to be particularly in favor with the mainstream Hindustani public anymore either, who may have been inclined to support her earlier despite the accusations by the industry.

She has lost series of endorsements over the last year without much protest from the Hindi public supporters. In 2005, when alleged tapes of Salman Khan threatening the actress had been claimed, just the mere claims alone (which proved to be false) had created violent furor of lynchmobs and counterthreats against Khan in states like Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Bihar. That is not likely to happen on behalf of Aishwarya Rai again.

Given however that she has now associated herself to the name of the Bachchans thereby implicitly potentially drawing them too into this mess; for folks who are Bachchan supporters, the issue now would be to be concerned about the past track record. They would be wondering if Abhishek Bachchan in a few years does not have to end up making the same set of observations about Aishwarya Rai as the others are doing now. As for the rest of the public, the charade will continue.

It once used to be said about nautankis and nautankiwalis of stage and reel that the correct rule describing their relevance was simply to be limited to ‘paisa pheko tamasha dekho.’ That’s where the mainstream Indian public may need to end up placing Aishwarya Rai in retrospect ultimately.

This in light of the news that actor Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai (currently in Guzarish with Hrithik Roshan) will reportedly patch up after a violent tamasha of allegations and counterallegations few years ago of these actors involving Aishwarya Rai getting assaulted by Salman Khan and getting kicked out of the film by Shahrukh Khan.

Khan had also suggested Rai was manipulating professional platform using personal associations. From commercial perspective, Khan’s decision to kick Rai out may have worked as Chalte Chalte fared alright at the box office, faring just under the moderate budget hits of the year.

So the new rumors possibly point to the basic, absurd nature of showbusiness or ‘nautanki’ as it is called by Hindi people, that Khan and Rai are reported to be soon be doing a middle-aged drama allegedly similar to title of a film Aishwarya Rai is doing with Abhishek Bachchan, who is currently playing the role of her real life husband. Go figure.

Rai is reportedly looking to act next with Shahrukh Khan in Khan’s home production also titled Ra-One. Though some reports have had choreographer Rajiv Menon’s involvement as well.

But if materialized, a certain downcasting for the Khan-Rai casting now would be that Rai could be close to 40 and Shahrukh Khan 46/47 by the time such a film gets set to release.

It will also likely release after her controversial, and by now already overbudget film Mani Ratnam’s Ravan costarring Abhishek Bachchan as it will go to floor in late 2010 and release likely in 2011 or 2012.

But all the same, given that Rai had made some pretty serious charges at the time without filing suit, if the reports are true, the allegations and circumstances around Chalte Chalte and Rai’s eviction and claims about Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan may need to be reopened and reexamined from 2001-2003. Otherwise looking back they’ll have to get treated as one more nautanki by Aishwarya Rai.

Sanjay leela Bansali’s next Mega-Budget Film starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Hrithik Roshan in lead role, is titled as GUZARISH.After creating history by becoming the first Indian to bag the Oscar Award for best sound mixing for Slumdog Millionaire, Resul Pookutty is now looking forward to put his audio wizardry in Sanjay Bhansali’s next film featuring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan which is scheduled to start later this year.

Sanjay recalls his first association with Resul and says, “My assistant Vikram Motwane had suggested Resul’s name. For Devdas, Resul recorded the sounds of a hurling train for the climax, I hadn’t met Resul then. For Black, I worked with him for the first time on a complete film. I realised how meticulously he designed the sound and by sound, I also mean the way Resul uses silences on soundtrack.”

According to Sanjay, Resul is extremely demanding of his actors. “Our actors are not used to sync sound. Resul is very particular and doesn’t allow the actors a chance to lose focus for even a second. He’s very clear about how he wants the actors to speak.”
