Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently played the perfect Bachchan bahu as she cooked for hubby Abhishek Bachchan and the entire cast of the film ‘Game’ in Greece. The cast of the film, which includes Kangna Ranaut, Jimmy Shergill, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Shahana Goswami, Gauhar Khan and the film’s co-producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, swear by the culinary skills of the gorgeous lady.

Talking about their cooking spree, Abhishek said to a news daily, “Whenever we had spare time, we did a little cooking for everyone. Apart, of course, from cycling, taking walks and playing volleyball on the beach.”

Talking about the film shooting experience, Abhishek said, “Shooting in Samos was an experience in itself, especially the action sequences, as we had all modes of water transport being used.”

Well, with so much love around and your beautiful wife cooking for you, watch out for your weight Abhi!

You heard, didn’t you, that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was originally supposed to act in this film opposite husband Abhishek, but opted out followed by Gul Panag? Truth is, the Bachchan bahu was never approached and Gul was only tested for the role. If offered, would Ash have accepted the offer? Don’t know!

But we’re glad she wasn’t asked, because honestly, audiences are fatigued by the Abhiash jodi already. And look who’s been taken on in Crooked instead, former Miss India Sarah Jane Dias!

That’s not all, Kangna Ranaut, who has just won her first National Award, too has entered the film. She takes Pakistani actress Soniya Jahan’s role since Soniya didn’t have the required work permit. Kangna was the original choice but didn’t have dates last year. But now that she’s free and Soniya is out, Kangna’s signed the film in which she gets to play a very meaty role.

Looks like all beauty queens believe Tamil Cinema is the best place to kickstart their film career! Almost every Miss India in the recent past has made her presence felt down South before embarking on her Bollywood journey.

Aishwarya Rai debuted in Iruvar and continued to appear in Tamil films on and off (Jeans, Kandukondein Kandukondein). Now she will be seen after several years in Shankar’s Rajinikanth starrer Enthiran.

Sushmita Sen too tried her luck in South Indian films. She appeared opposite Nagarjuna in Rakshagan. Priyanka Chopra too made her cine debut with the Tamil film Tamizhan opposite Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Lara Dutta appeared with Action King Arjun in Aarasatchi.

The trend still continues, not only with beauty queens, but even Bollywood actresses doing more than shaking a leg or two in South Indian films. We have seen Kajol, Tabu, Sameera Reddy, Bipasha Basu, Kangna Ranaut, Tanisha, Riya Sen, Neetu Chandra and of course Mallika Sherawat in Kollywood. And then we have Genelia and Tamannaah who debuted in Hindi but found name and fame in Telugu and Tamil.

Sanjay Dutt has left Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, the producer of his untitled film opposite Kangana Ranaut, in the lurch after signing a Mani Ratnam film. Ratnam’s film stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles.

Sanjay had earlier agreed to do the T-Series romantic film starring Kangana, which was to be directed by the duo Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao. The film was to be shot extensively in USA and India.

While the T-Series production house officials are maintaining that Dutt is still in their project, Dharam Uberoi, business manager of Dutt says, “We are waiting to sort out things; he has not committed himself to the project as yet. T-Series has yet to revert regarding some issues.”

However, our sources confirm, “Dutt has no inclinations to do the T-Series film anymore.”
