He again proved his dominance and mastery over his craft when he got involved in the Colors’ ‘Bigg Boss’. His son Abhishek Bachchan followed suit and is now anchoring a game show ‘c’ in Colors. And, the latest hearsay is that now it’s turn of the Bachchan Bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to embark on her small-screen journey.
Reports have been doing the rounds that the ‘Most Beautiful Woman on Earth’ is going to host a chat show Colors and thus launch her TV debut.
A source quips, “Right from the time they signed Amitabh Bachchan for Bigg Boss, the channel had decided to have Abhishek and Aishwarya as well.” Despite her gruelling work-schedule, Ash, reportedly, has given her nod even though her spokesperson has dismissed such news.

ashwariya-lorelAishwarya Rai Bachchan, the stunningly beautiful daughter-in-law of Amitabh Bachchan who sizzled in super duper hit flicks like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Dhoom’ , ‘Devdas’ and ‘Guru’ with the likes of Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, has been offered a talk show on television.

The offer has so much moolah and other benefits with it that Aishwarya is seriously considering it, and if her busy schedule permits the show will be on from next year. Her husband Abhishek Bachchan has already been signed for a game show ‘National Bingo Night’, which is going on air shortly.

Even, Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in by the channel to continue with the hosting of ‘Bigg Boss’ in its fourth season with a mind boggling amount. Big B had been paid Rs 1.5 crore per episode for the season three of Bigg Boss, and the remuneration for the fourth season has gone up even further.

Tax breaks for foreign earnings of actress

aishwarya15Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be given a tax exemption for income earned from stage performances abroad and modelling, as an actor, for an international watch company.

The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) in Mumbai passed the detailed order, which is likely to benefit many actors and sportspersons, this week.

The tribunal accepted that while performing in stage shows abroad and modelling, Rai, as an actor, is entitled to benefits under section 80 RR of the Income Tax Act.

The section allows a certain percentage of tax exemption to authors, playwrights, artists, musicians, actors and sportspersons on income derived from practicing their profession abroad.

Rai had claimed a tax exemption of Rs 54.9 lakh on the Rs 1.85 crore she earned abroad

in the assessment year 2003-2004.

The earnings were from stage shows and endorsement of watches made by Swiss company Longines Francillon.
