The fanfare surrounding Abhishek Bachchan’s and Aishwarya Rai’s wedding reached a new level with the kind of kind of gifts the lovely couple received. At the time of the marriage, Ash was the brand ambassador of Nakshatra Diamond. And the company came up with a unique gift fit for the queen of Bollywood. The jewellery brand gifted the couple a visiting card that read ‘Aishwarya Abhishek Bachcan. But it was no ordinary card. It was reportedly made with 7900 diamonds and 40 grams of gold. The cost- a whopping crore!

While it is a glorious occasion for some that Aishwarya Rai has reached No. 9 at the Harpers and Queen Magazine, this is the same lady that “.
At least according to thousands of Web sites, Internet polls, several magazines lists and even the beautiful Julia Roberts herself had tagged her as ‘The World’s Most Beautiful Woman in the world’.
Yummy mummy Angelina Jolie is No.1 on the list while Christy Turlington, Queen Rania of Jordan, Sofia Coppola, Nigella Lawson follow lead.
Not only has Aishwarya dropped to 9th place on the Harpers Most beautiful women list but the actress has also been toppled over by many newbies from several of her ad campaigns.
Aish who was the face of Nakshatra, L’Oreal and several other honchos has been replaced by younger faces and that to people she doesn’t see eye to eye now. While Katrina Kaif, who is ex-Salman’s current girlfriend, has taken over Nakshatra, Sonam Kapoor who has even dissed Aishwarya by calling her ‘Aunty’ is the face of L’Oreal.

Slowly Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is losing her brand status. After kicking out of the Nakshatra jewelry deal, the former Miss World is unsure about the soap endorsement which she has been endorsing for a long time. Interestingly, the actress who is going to replace her from the soap brand is her old rival Katrina Kaif who has once snatched away the Nakshatra deal from her.
Buzz is that soon Kat is going to replace Ash. Though the deal is not yet confirmed, Katrina Kaif is taken into consideration. However Kat is denying her association with the brand, “It’s not true”, she said.
It is said that Aishwarya’s growing age and marital status are the reasons behind her fall. The question of Ash’s increasing age raised when L’Oreal signed Sonam Kapoor for the Indian face. The incident later followed up with Sonam debarred from walking with Ash at the Cannes red carpet.

Aishwarya has completed nearly a decade of endorsing Swiss luxury watch brand Longines and international soap Lux. She has also been the brand ambassador of global haircare brand L’Oreal since 2003.
Noted ad-man Prahlad Kakkar says Aishwarya is sought by well-known brands because she is more than just an actress and is often perceived as an ambassador of India. “Aishwarya was never a big or major endorser of Indian products.
She has an impressive list of international brands to her name and that’s because she is not just an actress who can be judged on hits and flops, but the fact that she is a representative of the Indian woman and is an ambassador of the country,” Kakkar, who made her famous as Sanju in a 1993 TV commercial for Pepsi, told IANS on phone from Mumbai.

So what if brands think Aishwarya Rai is too old to be a youth icon? With more companies looking for newer models with a greater reach to sell their product, it’s offers pouring in for young, haute actresses in the country today. And cashing in on that are many petite damsels, from Genelia to Bebo and the newest kid on the block in Bollywood, Asin. The ‘Ghajini’ actress has, most recently, signed up a deal to endorse Big Bazaar, along with cricket star MS.Dhoni.

Brand wars could well be the newest thing among heroines today, as the female leads have been vying with each other to clinch international brand contracts. If Ash turned down Loreal’s fairness cream, Sonam Kapoor got it. And Asin has now become brand ambassador for Fairever Fruit. Genelia, it may be recalled, endorsed Fair and Lovely in the early days of her career.
