Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan says he feels humbled after receiving the NDTV Indian of the Year award on Wednesday night.

This year, to coincide with its 21st anniversary, NDTV also honoured Indian icons of the last 21 years – among them, Amitabh Bachchan.

On his blog, Bachchan wrote about the ceremony, which he attended with his wife, Jaya, and his daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

“NDTV Indian of the Year acknowledging 21 years of the existence of the channel and simultaneously acknowledging Indians that have been an inspiration for the country in these 21 years!!”

Wife Jaya, son Abhishek, daughter Shweta and her husband Nikhil — were in the capital on Monday to watch daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai perform at NDTV’s unveiling of “The Seven Wonders of India”.

Abhishek, clad in a black formal suit, sported a new clean-shaven look. The actor said it was for a new movie Ravana, a trilingual film in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi directed by Mani Ratnam.

“This look — it is actually for a movie that I am working on. This look is going to stay, at least for the time being,” Abhishek told IANS.

Wife Aishwarya said she loved him just the way he was. “He is my husband and I love him as he is.”

Abhishek reciprocated saying: “All men dance around their wives.”

The entire Bachchan family was present to cheer up Ash as she performed on some traditional numbers in the capital. Where she was dressed up in the traditional attire, Aishwarya Bachchan looked absolutely stunning and she performed with the dance troupe of world-class choreographer Shaimak Davar. Well, its almot stale news now-but a fan sent us a video of Aish performing and told us to post it!. The function was in Delhi and was courtesy NDTV. The show was hosted by NDTV’S famous figures Abhigyan Prakash and Vikram Chandra. When they invited Aishwarya on to the stage, they described her “Another India wonder” which I CAN’T IMAGINE AND GET MYSELF TO SAY THAT OUT LOUD.

Aishwarya Rai was dressed in a traditional outfit, performed with Shiamak Davar and troupe for nearly an hour showcasing the colors, heritage and popular music of India. All to the beats of happening Bollywood’s music and songs. She’s looking abit tranny nah!
