So far, Aishwarya Rai has served us one film named Raavan in 2010. The film, contrary to overwhelming speculations, fell flat on the box office lending her a rare flop. Critics slammed her for her screams and shrieks while Abhishek was anything but scary. However, Aishwarya scorched the Cannes Film Festival with her graceful presence as she flaunted a mix of Indian and western attires, lending the prestigious carpet a touch of modernity with a hint of classy ethics.
So, the report card of Ash can be presented as:

It’s old news that Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai pairing in Raavan could not manage to charm the audience but the unaffected couple is gearing up to do another flick together.

Even though the audience failed to see the sizzling chemistry which they last saw in Guru,

Buzz is that the filmmaker is planning to cast the Bachchan couple to star in his movie inspired by Chetan Bhagat’s novel 3 Mistakes of My Life, a news daily reported.
Interestingly, this is Bhagat’s third book which is getting a celluloid adaptation. Before this, 3 Idiots was based on Five Point Someone and Hello on One Night @ the Call Center.

However, 3 Mistakes of My Life did not recieve much reader appreciation and many termed it ‘lacklustre’. We wonder what the outcome of this ‘lacklustre’ script with a not-so-happening pairing would be!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the beauty of bollywood, is one of those gals, who is naturally blessed with a thick crowning glory!
Almost every time, that the star has appeared in reel or real life, there have been speculations as to what her hair do would be.
Now, Aishwarya, who is from the southern part of India, is naturally blessed with her thick and beautiful stresses.
She has also almost made sure to appear in long hair dos. Her roles, most of the times, has seen her portraying a girl from the crux of Indian society, and her hair dos, which have almost been stuck to long and middle length, have always contributed to a large extent, in making her look the eternal beauty that she always is considered to be, by most film buffs!

For a few months, till Vipul Shah announced November 5 as D-Day, the grapevine had been buzzing about Action Replayy lining up for an Eid opening. And setting up a moonstruck clash between Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan, whose Dabangg had also zeroed in on September10.

However, the producer-director denies this, “Ash versus Salman? Eid was never an option. We had earlier locked on July 23 but the post-production is taking longer than expected because the film has a lot of special effects. So another Akshay Kumar starrer, Khatta Meetha, opened last Friday,” says Shah. “Diwali is a good time for our fun film.”

There were hundreds of stories floating on how cinematographer-cum-filmmaker Rajeev Menon, who made Kandukondein Kandukondein with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Tabu, and Sapne with Kajol, was supposedly doing an Abhimaan kind of a flick with Ash and hubby Abhishek.

It is now being rumoured that though Rajeev was in queue before filmmaker Mani Ratnam, who used the Ash-Abhi combo for Raavan, the superstar couple gave Mani preference over Rajeev.

But now it’s said that after the debacle of Raavan, the Rajeev film may not take off because the trade would much rather see Aishwarya romance other heroes, and Abhishek serenade Katrina or Kareena.

Aishwarya Rai awaiting a bright sunshine as dark clouds melt away

Katrina Kaif may be ruling the roost but Aishwarya Rai is the one who is Bollywood’s established veteran with a cemented footing in the industry. Hence, the hype and hoopla surrounding her last Raavan was natural.
However, since it was heavily bombarded by the general public and completely ripped off by the critics; the cast and crew of the film are not exactly in a mood to celebrate. And one of them includes the former Miss World Aishwarya Rai who is all grim and dismal.
So much so that the most beautiful lady in the planet is not confronting the tabloid fearing wraths and disturbing grilling by the blood hound paparazzi. In fact, though, she was gleefully hopping from here to there promoting her film before the fateful D-Day arrived, now that the flick has released and sank, she is keeping low profile and hasn’t yet shown up before the media.
Even her PR machinery has been asked to stay silent till the gloomy phase gets over and things freshen up with newer prospects ahead. Personally speaking, hits and misses are part and parcel of this rat race world. One flop Friday doesn’t erode the accolades and fame Aish has generated over the past one and a half decade.
Nevertheless, for now, the emerald-eyed beauty is awaiting a bright sunshine after clouds of darkness and despair part away…….

Aishwarya Rai in Raavan: Great Expectations but Paradise Lost

July 8th, 2010

Suddenly, all the hype about Aishwarya Rai has come to a halt in the media after the disastrous performance of Raavan film in the box office. Sadly for her, Katrina Kaif’s Raajneeti did very well in the box office in the same month.
The success of Katrina Kaif came at the worst possible time for Rai. Too much was written about Raavan in the media in the last few weeks. Of course, when a movie fails in the box office, it is not the fault of the actress or heroine alone.
Mani Ratnam was the director. The main fault should go with him. Abhishek Bachchan was the hero and he should have his own share of success and failure too. A. R. Rahman was behind the composition of music.
So, it is not clear why Aishwarya Rai felt so disappointed about the failure of the movie Raavan in the box office. She does not need to become silent.
Raavan not only failed in the box office but also failed to get any kind of notable praise from critics both in India and in USA and UK. However, it seems that Aishwarya Rai has taken the failure too personally.

Not so lucky Aishwarya

Aishwarya Rai, was recently in news for establishing good terms with most of the director’s wives she has worked with. News was there that Aishwaray, who was seen in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan was offered a movie by Ratnam’s second half Suhasini Ratnam.
Buzz was there that inspite of Raavan being a flop at the box-office; things are all fine between Ash and the director’s wife that they there are sharing an amazingly good level. So much so that the Suhasini was keen to direct the Bachchan bahu in her project, that would have been her directorial debut.
However, latest reports from the Suhasini Ratnam’s spokeperson have come in that there is no such plan as of now. Sushini is quite busy as she has some other commitments and thus she could not even think of any new project at the time.
Though everything seems to be fine between Ash and Ratnam, there’s no movie ffor Ash from Mani Ratnam’s second half.
Meanwhile, Aishwarya has some films in her kitty like Action Replayy, Guzaarish and Endhiran.
