Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan started her filmy career in Tamil that was also coincidently Mani Ratnam’s movie ‘Iruvar’ starring opposite Mohanlal.

She did many Tamil movies but never lend her own voice. Now the actress has decided to dub in her own voice for her upcoming Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film Raavana. Earlier Mani Ratnam had to use some professional artist for the job but when Aishwarya Bachchan wanted to take the initiative then the director arranged a trained teacher for Aishwarya who could help her in the dialogues.

Ash has recently winded up dubbing for the Hindi version of the film and is now all set to lend her voice for the Tamil Raavan. Her next movie in Tamil is Endhiran that also casts Superstar Rajinikanth.

Poor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan! It seems like the actress has been as unlucky as fellow Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif lately! After falling ill on the set of “Action Replay,” Ash cut herself while shooting her new movie, “Raavana.”
When Ash, one of B-town’s biggest stars, fell ill while shooting “Action Replay” with Akshay Kumar, Bollywood was on high alert! The model and actress had spent a week on Manori Island working with Vipul Shah on the movie that tells the story of a time-traveling man, played by Akshay.

But all of a sudden, while shooting a scene, Ash got sick and had to take antibiotics. But it seems like Mrs Bachchan ate the medicine like candy and soon had a bad reaction. Her lips got swollen and her fever worsened.
But what to do when you have to finish a movie? Well, Ash is a true professional and decided to simply cover her face with a veil and continue shooting! Interesting! No rest for this L’Oreal girl!
“The reaction could’ve either been because of the antibiotics, which she took in excess as she had to finish the shooting yesterday as well as fulfill the next important commitment of being the keynote speaker at a women’s summit today, or it could also be an insect sting,” Aishwarya’s spokesperson said at the time. Poor Ash!
And now the actress is at it again! This time she cut herself while shooting the movie “.” Ash reportedly climbed a mountain as part of a scene where she wanted to perform a stunt herself, but as is often the case when the stars want to be in on the stunt action, it backfired and Aishwarya suffered cuts and bruises. Ouch!

Director Mani Ratnam started shooting Raavana in 2007 and today, he is still not sure how to end his film. Still undecided over what makes an apt climax for the film, he is flitting between four options. He has shot four potential climaxes in Malshej, but no one on the set knows which one he is likely to go with.

A source from the unit said, “The first ending has Raavana winning over Sita (Aishwarya Rai). Another option is that she goes the conventional way and returns to Ram.” The third and fourth options make life easier for Mani: either Ram dies or Raavana meets his end. So, that closes one door for Sita and she is less burdened by the choice.

Perhaps Mani doesn’t want to court controversy and hence, he is, literally speaking, keeping his options open. Having fallen prey to controversy in the past with films like Bombay, where religion was a touchy issue, maybe he hopes that with time, he will be able to arrive at a well thought out conclusion.

Will the Hindi and the Tamil version have the same climax? Who knows? Maybe Abhishek Bachchan, who plays Raavana in the Hindi version, will live happily ever after with Aishwarya Rai, like in real life.

The spokesperson of the film said, “ The climax has already been shot. In fact, Abhishek has finished dubbing too.”

The latest buzz doing the rounds in bolly circles is that the film ‘Raavana’s director Mani Ratnam had taken a real life like shot in one of the scenes, which nearly froze the unit due to fright for a moment .

It so happened that the director, who had undergone a bomb scare in real life, when a bomb was hurled at him and luckily it burst in mid air just before it reached him, wanted to incorporate this particular scene in his film ‘Raavana’.
Now, the two leads that is, Aishwarya and the south star Vikram, were to be the ones to be attacked with the bomb. For the shoot, a petrol bomb was to be used, this had to be hurled from a distance of 25 feet, and it was supposed to burst mid air just 15 feet from where the stars were.

This bit of the scene was to be done with utmost accuracy. As everyone on the sets, including the action director were quite tensed, the leading actors, Aishwarya and Vikram, very bravely enacted the scene. The action master also had done the required act perfectly; the bomb exploded exactly the way the director wanted it to.

The actors braved it out and no one had the guts to say that they would not be able to do the stunt scene, out of fear, as no one wanted to upset the respected director’s wish.

However, since the shot has already been Okayed, it remains to be seen how effective it will be for the film.

Bollywood beauty queen Aishwariya Rai Bachchan was not seen in any films last season. She was given the onus of handling the promotions for Paa, and managing ABCL the Bachchan home production house, by Paa-in-law Big B, but she sure was missing from onscreen action all of 2009. Mani Ratnam’s Raavana inevitably tops the list. This film is a modern day adaptation of Ramayana and is being shot for Hindi and Tamil versions, where Aishwarya will portray Sita in both. The story has been told from the king of demons, Raavana’s point of view. An amazing news is that in the Hindi version, Sita (Aishwariya) will be abducted by her real life hubby Abhishek Bachchan who will play the role of Raavana. Slotted for release this June, the movie has an investment of approximately Rs. 45 crores (450 million). It is heard that the shooting regime for this movie was extremely hard in terms of geographic and weather factors, but Aish was dedicated to her task and did it all without tantrums or qualms.

Next is Endhiran. Boasting of a Rs. 125 crores (1.25 million) budget, this bilingual sci-fi is directed by Shankar along with veteran Rajinikanth who is confident of the movie’s success as Aishwarya Rai is all set to travel with him in the movie.

Pairing up with khiladi Akshay Kumar for the second time Aishwarya will sizzle in this Vipul Shah’s flick Action Replay, which is due for release in the latter half of 2010. This Aish-Akki starrer is said to be costing the production upto Rs. 60 crores (600 million). A time travel tale that goes back to the 50′s, the story is based on an eponymous Gujrati Indian play, wherein the director has gone many lengths to assure the freshness of retro avatars for the lead stars. Shah, who has roped in designers Manish Malhotra and Shabina Khan for this task is positive that the appearances of the actors in this movie are its biggest USP.

Last, but certainly not the least in terms of its anticipating audiences, is Guzaarish that marks the comeback of renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the much-loved on screen pair of Aishwarya-Hrithik Roshan, after the success of Ashutosh’s Jodha Akbar. The film’s script is very fresh because it’s about a married nurse who falls in love with a paraplegic man portrayed by adonis Hrithik. UTV has been reported to shell out as much as Rs. 80 crores (800 million) in the making of Guzaarish.

With this Aishwarya becomes the most expensive heroine with Rs 300 crore riding on her defeating her contemporaries. Aishwarya will be portraying a vast variety of roles in her movies this year and along with significant cash doled out for these ventures, we sure hope the movies will haul back ample gold for blue eyed lady at BO.

On his birthday today, Abhishek Bachchan has a big wish. The actor wants to do more films opposite his wife henceforth. Though, this is not a condition he has set for his work, but the actor is keen to have such a situation in his life.

And Abhishek has some convincing reasons behind this wish. Firstly, the actor feels that he shares a great on-screen chemistry with his wife Aishwarya Rai and secondly that he gets to spend more time with her this way.

Well, though Abhishek has the upcoming film RAAVANA opposite Ash, let’s hope the actor’s wish gets fulfilled and he lands up in more roles opposite his wife in future.

Which resulted in director Mani Ratnam going ahead with the shooting of Raavana without her.

The actress wasn’t present on the sets of Raavana in Lonavla on Monday as she was celebrating Bhai Dooj in Mumbai.

A source from the unit says, “Mani sir was scheduled to shoot a train scene at Lonavla station on Monday and Tuesday with Aishwarya and South actor Vikram.

Although Mani sir had permission to shoot only for two days at the station, Aishwarya couldn’t make it on one of the days because of a family ritual.

Without wasting time, Mani sir continued to shoot the scene with Vikram and a few portions of some action scenes and packed up early in the evening.

Aishwarya and her husband Abhishek Bachchan reached Amby Valley near Lonavla late on Monday night.”

“Mani Ratnam, his wife Suhasini and DOP Santosh Sivan spent the night at Amby Valley along with Abhi-Ash. Next morning, they went to Lonavla station where Aishwarya shot with Vikram. The train sequence started at Lonavla and went up to Karjat. The film’s cast and crew went to and fro four times on Tuesday,” adds the source. Aishwarya’s spokesperson says, “Aishwarya is a thorough professional and she was on the sets when required.”

The hectic shoot of the flick ‘Raavana’ has completely drained out Bollywood beauty Aishwarya and she looks exhausted. According to sources, Ash took a day off from the shoot and visited an exclusive spa center in Mumbai.

The spa center is famous for herbal and natural use of products and Ash simply loves it. The lady revived and rejuvenated herself and came on the set. The hubby Abhishek just got mesmerized after watching the fresh skin of wife. Abhi was completely knocked out by Aishwarya’s beautiful luminous skin and admired her beauty. Abhishek says Ash is getting more beautiful with each passing day. Well Ash gets a success in capturing the attention of hubby Abhi.

The hectic shoot of Raavana seems to have taken a major toll on Aishwarya– the gruelling shoot has completely drained her and she looks visibly exhausted.According to our khabroo, Ash took a day off from the shoot and visited an uber exclusive spa centre in Mumbai.
