International Indian Film Academy or as it s better known as IIFA is out with its nominations list and the people who are on the list is really excited. Katrina Kaif and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are competing against each other in the Best Actress category as Katrina got nominated for Rajneeti and Aishwarya for Guzaarish. Vidya Balan has also been nominated for her out of beat role in Ishqiya. Other actress who will be competing for best actress award at IIFA and Band Baja Baarat girl Anushka Sharma and Kareena Kapoor.

IIFA is a very prestigious award and to get a nomination in this is in itself a great feat. The films that have got the highest nominations so far is Once Upon a Time In Mumbai which has got 12 nominations closely followed by Dabangg which has got 11 nominations.

Beauty Queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has dedicated the Teacher’s People Achiever Award, which was awarded to her on Saturday, to her father Krishnaraj Rai on the eve of his birthday. She was very happy and exited during the event that occurred at Hotel Taj Lands End. Post completion of the event she interacted with the media during which she said that being the people’s choice makes her feel great as she is motivated by the cheers of the viewers. Teacher’s Achievement Awards are given to celebs associated with entertainment. Along with Aishwarya Rai the recipients of this prestigious award were the Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, Boman Irani and Shabana Azmi.

Aishwarya Rai charmed in an elaborate anarkali dress at Teacher’s Achievement Awards in Mumbai on November 20.

So how does a girl look hot even when covered from neck to ankles in yards of fabric? By being Aishwarya Rai, of course!

Aishwarya’s voluminous long sleeve anarkali dress had beige velvet bodice and sleeves and ivory and golden full skirt. She paired it with a golden border ivory churidar, crystal encrusted maroon dupatta and sparkling golden heels.

Her reddish brown hair, styled with an asymmetrical side parting and sleek top, framed her face.

Karan Johar is back on your television with his usual cup of hot coffee. And as the curtains were raised on the 3rd edition of the show this Sunday, the very 1st episode featured the much-loved couple of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan.

At the first look launch, a particularly nosy reporter asked Aishwarya how she felt about having worked with both older actors (Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgan) and younger one’s (Hrithik Roshn) in each of Bhansali’s films. A miffed Ash replied that it didn’t matter whom she worked with as long as the director was okay with the casting. “I don’t know whether there was a question or a point he (the journalist) made. The fact is that most of the directors I worked with don’t get in to chronology, or statements, or sensationalizing casting,” Aishwarya said.
