Aishwarya makes it to the top 100 names

Silencing all the critics who said that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is out, the diva has made it to the list of top 100 powerful women in the world.

The list which is published by TIME magazine lists the name of the women who are powerful in their field and have a great impact on their surroundings.

The list includes the names of likes of Condoleezza Rice, Stella McCartney, Sarah Palin and Nora Roberts, along with other top women names in it.

Aish has been in the industry for quite some time after winning the title of Miss World. She then registered a decent career growth in the industry after initial hiccups.

Her journey to Hollywood has also created ripples and her marriage in the Bachchan house almost stopped her projects in Bollywood. She has recently made a comeback with bang and is working as the lead lady in Mani Ratnam’s Ravana.

Bollywood’s empress Aishwarya Rai has been silent for the last couple of seasons. She didn’t feature in any Bollywood flick in 2009 letting Vidya Balan to escape with the Filmfare Best Actress trophy. But in 2010 the tigress is all set to roar again with 4 films to hit the theatres:

1. Ravana- This Mani Ratnam film has been making the headlines for quite some time. It’s a modern take on the epic Ramayana and the tale has been told from Ravana’s point of view. An interesting wait coz Sita (Aishwarya) will be abducted by her real life hubby Abhishek Bachchan who will essay the notorious character of Ravana.
2. Enhiran- This film from South Indian shores will see Ash paired up alongside veteran Rajnikant in a science-fiction flick. Much needs to be seen how well it shapes up.
3. Action Replay- Pairing up with sexy Akshay, Aishwarya will sizzle again in this Vipul Shah’s flick which will hit cinemas in the latter half of 2010.
4. Guzaarish- Probably, the most anticipated film, it marks the comeback of renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the much-loved, screen-scorching pair of Aishwarya-Hrithik. The film’s script is afresh where a married nurse falls in love with a paraplegic man portrayed by the maverick Hrithik Roshan.

Last year she was seen in just one film — Hollywood’s “Pink Panther”. But this year Aishwarya Rai has four films lined up for release — two southern projects “Ravana” and “Endhiran” as well as “Action Replay” and “Guzaarish”, collectively costing over Rs. 300 crore.

While her bilingual sci-fi film “Endhiran”, starring Rajnikanth, is said to be made at a budget of Rs.125 crore, approximately Rs. 45 crore has been spent on Mani Ratnam’s much-awaited “Ravana”, which is set for a June release.

Vipul Shah’s “Action Replay” costs around Rs.60 crore and if reports are to be believed, UTV is shelling out close to Rs.80 crore for Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed “Guzaarish” for which Aishwarya is currently shooting along with Hrithik Roshan in Mumbai.

Aishwarya has been busy shooting all these films for the past one year and even suffered health problems due to her hectic schedules.

Aishwarya Rai says she is fully convinced that actor-husband Abhishek Bachchan will make a good father in real life because he is so “real and rooted”.

“Everybody has been asking me if Abhishek will be a good pa (father) in connection with the release of our forthcoming production ‘Paa’. I think it’s silly for me to be even making the statement. It’s given – I married the man. So obviously I have the conviction in the husband he is or the father he will be,” Aishwarya, 36, told IANS in an interview here.

Vipul Shah: Rumours can damage my relationship with Aishwarya

Then came the news that the actress had refused to dub for ‘Action Replay’, after seeing the rushes. All these have ended by giving the director a pain in the head.

Vipul Shah rubbishes these news as baseless rumours. He has been deeply effected with such rumours and he is now concerned about his relationship with Aishwarya. “The sort of rumours rising now can damage my relationship with her. “Aishwarya is a very respectable professional. It hurts to see how her sheer hard work is ridiculed to build one spicy story by the media. She has been a soft target. And the sort of rumours rising now can damage my relationship with her. She has been my friend for a long time and I am afraid I will have a fallout with her,” Shah told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

“There are certain people who are making systematic attempts to destroy my relationship with Aishwarya. There are gossip mongers who are spreading baseless rumours that she has refused to dub for Action Replay after seeing the rushes. But none of this is true,” he added.

Actress Aishwarya Rai is down with a “chest infection” and “flu like symptoms”, leaving her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan worried. The 35-year-old actress who was shooting with husband Abhishek Bachchan in Ooty for the upcoming Mani Ratnam film ‘Ravana’ is down with the illness, Bachchan who is in Singapore tending to politician Amar Singh wrote in his blog.

“Aishwarya has taken ill and is down with chest infection and flu like symptoms. Had a high fever yesterday but is settling down today,” wrote Bachchan. “Its worrying to be so far away from children and not be there to look after them. Yes, they are mature and married and responsible, but children will always remain children,” a concerned Bachchan added. The 66-year-old veteran also complained that he has been suffering from a “strained back”.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai had a narrow escape, when an elephant ran amok killing the mahaut during the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s Ravana. Sources said, the elephant went out of control reportedly due to overwork. The shooting of the film is currently on in Kerala’s Thrissur district. Both Abhishek and Aishwarya, who were sitting at a distance were immeditaley moved to safer places.
