No work talk in bedroom: Abhi-AshJune 13th, 2010By Jilawatan
They are becoming a habit with each other. The husband-wife duo of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan confess that they thoroughly enjoy working with each other. Guru, Sarkar Raj and now Raavan… this couple has been having a field day working together. But the beauty of this combination is that they don’t carry their work home. When curious journos asked this superstar couple whether they discuss movies in the confines of their bedroom, the couple jointly said, “No, we leave our work behind in the studios. Home is our personal space… and we have a lot to talk about other than work.” They sound quite like Kajol and Ajay Devgn, another couple that revels in each other’s company at home. No shop talk there. Is Ash heading ABCL?November 17th, 2009By Jilawatan
A source tells us, ‘Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is going all out to ensure that ABCL becomes a production house to reckon with. She has been meeting up with directors she has worked with and even those whose work she admires but hasn’t worked with as yet. Anurag Kashyap, R Balki, Sanjay Gadhvi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ashutosh Gowariker who has met up with to discuss future projects. After meeting the directors, she discusses everything with her Maa and Paa (Jaya and Amitabh) who share their opinion with her. As far as the cast of the films is concerned, there is enough talent within the family to choose from.’ Aishwarya To Work With Vishal BhardwajMarch 20th, 2009By Jilawatan
Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and Vishal Bhardwaj are finally getting together after many false starts. The project will go into production at the end of the year. Says Aishwarya, “Vishal and I have wanted to work together ever since he was the music composer on a project that got shelved. We had promised one another that I’d start in his film whenever he turned director. Right after his directorial debut in the children’s film Makdee Vishal had offered Aishwarya a film called Timbuctoo . That got shelved. Why Ash loves her ‘twisted’ romance with AbhishekMarch 15th, 2009By Jilawatan
: Ash, what’s interesting about the films that you are doing with your husband Abhishek after marriage is that none of them is a conventional, pure romantic film. Sarkar Raj – just when a hint of a relationship began – ended, and in Mani Ratnam’s Ravan, it’s almost a forbidden relationship. Is that much more fun than a typical romantic film – which you both have done before? Aishwarya Rai: We’d love to do it several times, trust me, we’d love to. We’d love to do an intense romantic film the conventional way as well. (laughs) But we’re glad the directors are coming with subjects and characters and… “I am not playing Sita” AishwaryaMarch 4th, 2009By Jilawatan
“The name of my character is not Sita. I am playing a woman who has similarities with the Sita of Ramayana,” she said but then refused to give further details about the production which also stars her husband Abhishek. “I can’t give any details about Ravana at the moment. You will have to wait and watch. All I can say that it is an intense film set in today’s time and Mani has given a totally new perspective to the art of storytelling,” she said. Ravana will be the fifth film where the husband–wife jodi will be shown on screen. When asked about her pairing opposite Abhishek, Aishwarya said they never played a conventional couple on-screen. Big B, Ash grab very few eyeballs!June 20th, 2008
Big releases flogged the box office last Friday. But none of them really could make any impression. Ram Gopal Varma’s much hyped sequel Sarkar Raj opened to a dismally low audience on its first day. Despite the Bachchans in the film, the film recorded 50 per cent occupancy in multiplexes and about 80% in single screens on its first day. Though the weekend saw an increase, with the occupancy reaching 85 – 90 per cent the collections have only gone downhill from there. Needless to say, the other releases, Aamir and Hum Sey Hai Jahaan, did worse. Aishwarya Rai comments on Ram Gopal Varma’s blog!June 18th, 2008
It may be a while before Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turns a blogger. But she has posted a comment on Ram Gopal Varma’s blog, in reply to a comment by another blogger! Aishwarya Rai AT OPENING OF SARKAR RAJ MOVIEJune 17th, 2008
Sarkar Raj has gotten a great start at the box office in its first week. However, it is still too early to predict whether the movie will be a hit. The movie features Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya in lead roles. For those who do not know Sarkar Raj is a sequel of hit Sarkar. Here are some pictures of Aishwarya Rai promoting the film in Hyderabad.I personally liked the movie but movie had pathetic villains and most of the Cast keeps on dying including abhishek Bachchan. Ash and I don’t have to play couple on screen: AbhishekJune 8th, 2008
“Just because we’re husband and wife doesn’t mean we should play the same roles in all our films,” Abhishek told IANS in an interview. Excerpts: How different are you and your father in Sarkar Raj compared to Sarkar? |
