They are becoming a habit with each other. The husband-wife duo of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan confess that they thoroughly enjoy working with each other.

Guru, Sarkar Raj and now Raavan… this couple has been having a field day working together. But the beauty of this combination is that they don’t carry their work home. When curious journos asked this superstar couple whether they discuss movies in the confines of their bedroom, the couple jointly said, “No, we leave our work behind in the studios. Home is our personal space… and we have a lot to talk about other than work.” They sound quite like Kajol and Ajay Devgn, another couple that revels in each other’s company at home. No shop talk there.

11-11aishwarya-raiThis is Aishwarya’s way of proving she is more than just a gorgeous face. She is heading the marketing department and is the brain behind Paa’s stellar campaign, replete with those classy, international-looking posters. Paa is ABCL’s first Bollywood production in a long time and Aishwarya wants to ensure that they are back with a bang. They also produced a Marathi film which premiered at MAMI this year.

A source tells us, ‘Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is going all out to ensure that ABCL becomes a production house to reckon with. She has been meeting up with directors she has worked with and even those whose work she admires but hasn’t worked with as yet. Anurag Kashyap, R Balki, Sanjay Gadhvi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ashutosh Gowariker who has met up with to discuss future projects. After meeting the directors, she discusses everything with her Maa and Paa (Jaya and Amitabh) who share their opinion with her. As far as the cast of the films is concerned, there is enough talent within the family to choose from.’

Aishwarya-To-Work-With-VishAfter getting fabulous performances out of Tabu in Maqbool, Kareena Kapoor in Omkara and hopefully, Priyanka Choopra in Kaminey, Vishal Bhardwaj is all set to team up with the one actress he has always wanted to work with.

Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and Vishal Bhardwaj are finally getting together after many false starts. The project will go into production at the end of the year.

Says Aishwarya, “Vishal and I have wanted to work together ever since he was the music composer on a project that got shelved. We had promised one another that I’d start in his film whenever he turned director.

Right after his directorial debut in the children’s film Makdee Vishal had offered Aishwarya a film called Timbuctoo . That got shelved.

aishwarya-rai-pic-020She was last seen with Steve Martin in Pink Panther 2 is now busy wrapping up films back home. CNN-IBN catches up with Aishwarya Rai in Hyderabad on the sets of Shankar’s new film and gets the former Miss World talking about her unconventional romantic films with hubby Abhishek Bachchan and working with Tamil star Rajinikanth.

: Ash, what’s interesting about the films that you are doing with your husband Abhishek after marriage is that none of them is a conventional, pure romantic film. Sarkar Raj – just when a hint of a relationship began – ended, and in Mani Ratnam’s Ravan, it’s almost a forbidden relationship. Is that much more fun than a typical romantic film – which you both have done before?

Aishwarya Rai: We’d love to do it several times, trust me, we’d love to. We’d love to do an intense romantic film the conventional way as well. (laughs) But we’re glad the directors are coming with subjects and characters and…

I am not playing Sita AishwaryaOn the promotional trail for her Hollywood flick Pink Panther 2, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan candidly told reporters at a press conference that her character in Mani Ratnam’s next release Ravana is not called Sita.

“The name of my character is not Sita. I am playing a woman who has similarities with the Sita of Ramayana,” she said but then refused to give further details about the production which also stars her husband Abhishek.

“I can’t give any details about Ravana at the moment. You will have to wait and watch. All I can say that it is an intense film set in today’s time and Mani has given a totally new perspective to the art of storytelling,” she said.

Ravana will be the fifth film where the husband–wife jodi will be shown on screen. When asked about her pairing opposite Abhishek, Aishwarya said they never played a conventional couple on-screen.

Big B, Ash grab very few eyeballs!

Big releases flogged the box office last Friday. But none of them really could make any impression. Ram Gopal Varma’s much hyped sequel Sarkar Raj opened to a dismally low audience on its first day. Despite the Bachchans in the film, the film recorded 50 per cent occupancy in multiplexes and about 80% in single screens on its first day. Though the weekend saw an increase, with the occupancy reaching 85 – 90 per cent the collections have only gone downhill from there. Needless to say, the other releases, Aamir and Hum Sey Hai Jahaan, did worse.

Aishwarya Rai comments on Ram Gopal Varma’s blog!

It may be a while before Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turns a blogger. But she has posted a comment on Ram Gopal Varma’s blog, in reply to a comment by another blogger!
A blogger commented, “Shankar (Abhishek Bachchan’s character name in Sarkar Raj) looks like an emotional fool when he opens his heart to a girl from America whom he met yesterday!” Ram Gopal Varma’s tongue-in-cheek answer was, “‘May be, he has a weakness for worldly beauties.”

Aishwarya Rai at Opening of Sarkar RajSark

Sarkar Raj has gotten a great start at the box office in its first week. However, it is still too early to predict whether the movie will be a hit. The movie features Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya in lead roles. For those who do not know Sarkar Raj is a sequel of hit Sarkar. Here are some pictures of Aishwarya Rai promoting the film in Hyderabad.I personally liked the movie but movie had pathetic villains and most of the Cast keeps on dying including abhishek Bachchan.

Ash and I don’t have to play couple on screen: Abhishek

June 8th, 2008

Abhishek Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai arrive for the premiere of their film Sarkar Raj at IIFA in Bangkok.Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, whose much awaited film Sarkar Raj was released yesterday, does not feel that he should always be paired with his wife Aishwarya Rai in a husband and wife role.

“Just because we’re husband and wife doesn’t mean we should play the same roles in all our films,” Abhishek told IANS in an interview.

Excerpts:

How different are you and your father in Sarkar Raj compared to Sarkar?
In Sarkar Raj, Pa (Amitabh Bachchan) would be seen with an added slouch. Pa had to be shown more aged than the first part of the film. A lot of time has passed and we see it in both our performances. My character has more responsibility on his shoulders unlike my earlier character, which was that of a hungry and lean man who was eager to prove himself. Now, my character is a confident and successful man.
