Seems like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan holds her family heritage too close to her heart; but is Kajra Re her family heritage? Recently, Shah Rukh Khan was left wondering about the same thing!

Buzz is that the actress did the unthinkable. She refused to groove to Kajra Re with SRK because she will only dance to that song with her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan and husband Abhishek Bachchan.

A source told Times of India, “Shah Rukh had planned a gig around Bollywood heroines over the years and he wanted it to conclude with Aishwarya`s performance. He had planned to dance with her to Kajra Re. But Ash refused.”

Grapevine has it that the actress argued that Kajra Re was a family song and that she would not perform it with anyone else. After much failed persuasion, SRK had to scrap the plan.

It could be a casting coup of sorts if film-maker Aditya Chopra has his way. Aditya is apparently trying to convince actors Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan to reunite for a movie. The last time they paired up on the silver screen was eight years ago for Devdas.

Aditya apparently has had telephonic conversations with both Shah Rukh and Aishwarya trying to coax them to do a project under his banner. Post 2002, Shah Rukh and Aishwarya never starred together in a film after it was widely gossiped that they had a fall-out.

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta is in Dubai to celebrate her 35th birthday Sunday and has plans to cook Indian food for “Good afternoon guys! Chilling in Dubai for my birthday weekend! This is going to be the best year of my life,” Preity posted on her Twitter account Saturday. “I have always wondered why Ash (Aishwarya Rai) & me grow older every year while all the other actresses either stay the same age or get younger? Any guesses?” she asked. On this birthday weekend, the actress is also trying to cook some Indian food.

“Ok! Its my birthday weekend so now I am going back to focusing on me…he he he! Trying to cook some Indian food 4 my Indian tummy! Ciao,” Preity posted. Preity, who has supposedly agreed to host a chat show for a TV channel, is very positive about the year 2010.

At a recent get-together, Aishwarya Rai was approached by SRK to play a cameo in his next, ‘RA.One’, which is directed by Anubhav Sinha.

They were last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’. After the ‘Chalte Chalte’ fiasco, Aishwarya and Shah Rukh have never worked together. Both of them have tried working on several projects, but nothing materialized.

A source revealed that at a social get-together recently, Shah Rukh and Gauri were seen in the company of Abhi-Ash. Both the couples were bonding and had a long chat about movies and forthcoming projects. It was at this moment that Shah Rukh spoke about ‘RA.One’. The source also said that SRK mentioned a scene to Aishwarya where she has to play herself in the film. It is a cameo. The scene is yet to be scripted, but so far it is about a character in the film that is Ash’s biggest fan and actually gets to meet her. It is believed that Abhishek who was listening to the whole conversation encouraged Ash to do it.
