Three Indian beauties and brand ambassadors of L’Oreal Paris— Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Freida Pinto, will light up the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival this year.

To be held from the 11th – 22nd of May 2011, it is one of the most prestigious film festivals and L’Oreal Paris has been the official make-up expert of it for 14 years.

Says Aishwarya, “Being at Cannes for L’Oreal Paris has been an absolute pleasure and to experience this for the tenth consecutive year is overwhelming. It is one of the most glamourous red carpets on the world platform, celebrating cinema, showbiz, beauty, diversity and excellence. Several countries have always had more than one spokeswoman at Cannes and I’m glad India is finally getting the same recognition. I am happy that with Sonam and Freida, both beautiful women, have being invited to the festival this year, India will have a stronger presence, which is a clear sign of the growing importance of the country.”

Freida Pinto has replaced Aishwarya Rai as the Indian face of an international cosmetics brand.

The Slumdog Millionaire actress featured in a Happy New Year TV ad for the cosmetics giant with all its other global brand ambassadors, except for Ash.

The Jr Mrs B had been representing the brand since 2005, while Freida joined them in 2009.

Recently, their was a news about the Slumdog Millionaire girl Freida Pinto replacing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the face to the cosmetic brand L’Oreal Paris. However, the firm have denied any such rumours saying that Aish continues to be the brand ambassador of L’Oreal.

These rumours cropped when Ms Pinto was seen featuring in the L’Oreal Paris New Year 2011′s commercial ad. The official statement of the firm stated that they were shocked when they read in some of the media write-ups that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been replaced as the face of the brand. They added that L’Oreal Paris confirms that the piece of information is totally untrue and Aishwarya continues to be the brand ambassador as she has been with them since the year 2000.

Freida Pinto has gone a long way and made a mark for herself in Hollywood. In fact, now many Indian filmmakers are running after her with their films but she has no dates.

Freida, who was already an Indian face for leading cosmetic giant L’Oreal, has now become an international face for them. Yes, she is not the spokeswoman for L’Oreal India but L’Oreal Paris.

The “Slumdog Millionaire” star can now be seen showing her sparkling eyes for the brand’s new mascara ad. The previous mascara ad of L’Oreal Paris featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

After receiving flak for showing Freida a few shades lighter in their previous campaign, the brand has gone with her natural skin tone this time.

With this ad, Freida has joined the league of A-list representatives of the brand that includes sizzling beauties such as Jennifer Aniston, Eva Longoria, Penelope Cruz, Beyonce Knowles, Kerry Washington and Aishwarya.

The last updation we got from Aishwarya Rai’s front was that even a fairly new actress like Sonam Kapoor was proving to be a competition for Mrs Bachchan but the latest news doing rounds in the film industry is that ‘Slumdog’ sizzler Freida Pinto is Ash’s competitor now! According to reports, a big brand that has Ash as its international brand ambassador and Sonam as the Indian brand face is now signing Freida Pinto as one of their international models.

Inside reports suggest that since Freida will also be representing the same brand hence she shall be walking the red carpet at all major international film festivals next year, giving Aishwarya company.

Freida, who has bagged films with Hollywood biggies is also expected to be on the jury of some of the biggest film festivals in 2010.

Looks like it’s time for Aishwarya’s monopoly to end finally!

In the West to the new international craze 24-year-old Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), who according to reliable sources has been signed for two films — one with Woody Allen and the second with Julian Schnabel.

Freida, who is said to have earned over two million pounds, overtaking Bollywood beauties like Aishwarya, Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif is also, according to a world film distributor, being wooed to walk the red carpet at Cannes in May 2009.

On the Bollywood front, Kareena Kapoor (28) has nudged Aishwarya Rai Bachchan out of the Filmfare Top-10 Power list.

But a producer from Chennai confirms that Ash is still the highest paid Indian heroine and has reportedly been paid a fee of Rs six crore for Shankar’s Robot, where she is cast opposite Rajnikant.

Sanjay leela Bansali’s next Mega-Budget Film starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Hrithik Roshan in lead role, is titled as GUZARISH.After creating history by becoming the first Indian to bag the Oscar Award for best sound mixing for Slumdog Millionaire, Resul Pookutty is now looking forward to put his audio wizardry in Sanjay Bhansali’s next film featuring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan which is scheduled to start later this year.

Sanjay recalls his first association with Resul and says, “My assistant Vikram Motwane had suggested Resul’s name. For Devdas, Resul recorded the sounds of a hurling train for the climax, I hadn’t met Resul then. For Black, I worked with him for the first time on a complete film. I realised how meticulously he designed the sound and by sound, I also mean the way Resul uses silences on soundtrack.”
