According to rumours, the actress plays a seductress in the film who deceives Steve using her beauty and charm. The film is all set to release on February 27 in India.

“The Pink Panther 2,” the sequel to the 2006 worldwide hit, brings back intrepid-if-bumbling French police detective, Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Martin). When legendary treasures from around the world are stolen, including the priceless Pink Panther Diamond, Chief Inspector Dreyfus (John Cleese) is forced to assign Clouseau to a team of international detectives and experts charged with catching the thief and retrieving the stolen artifacts.

“Good luck to the entire team. It has received so much appreciation of course based in India. There’s a lot of Indian talent in it. Rahman has won his Golden Globe and he’s a wonderfully talented musician. It’s wonderful to see the world wake up to his talent,” says Aishwarya.

Rai will play the part of a detective and karate expert named Sophie. She joins Inspector Clouseau’s bungling team as they attempt to catch an international art thief. The first Steve Martin Pink Panther earned over $140 million and hopes are that this one will do as well now that the famous Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai is in it.
