Though Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor are, currently, ruling the B-town with right doses of glamour and talent, it is the veteran Aishwarya Rai who defeats them comprehensively when it comes to global popularity.

Unlike the likes of Kareena and Priyanka, Aishwarya is renowned worldwide (after all, she had won the coveted pageant at the Miss World). Aishwarya’s global supremacy also accounts from the fact that she has worked in a slew of crossover films like ‘Pink Panther 2’, ‘The Last Legion’, ‘Bride and Prejudice’ and so on.
Reportedly, a few foreign publishers are insisting Aishwarya to pen her autobiography. In fact, they are ready to pay out handsome fee to her. As per reports, she has also been approached with a blank cheque by a publisher itching to print her journey from her modelling days to her Bollywood crown.
Publishers are also eyeing that she dishes out her relationship tales in the autobiography. In fact, Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi controversies are significant parts of her life and would make her books fly off the shelf in a jiffy.
But then Aishwarya being a very private person is brooding over it. She hasn’t yet given her nod and even if she does so, it is highly unlikely that she would serve her readers a dose of her spicy romance. But the publishers can still keep their fingers crossed.

The co-producer of ” Guzaarish” has justified the controversial promotional posters of the film that show Aishwarya Rai smoking a cigarette, saying it is “a creative requirement of the script”.

A letter issued by UTV Software Communications Private Limited to the National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE), a tobacco vigilante organisation headquartered in Goa, has stated that Ash’s smoking act on the posters was necessary.

“The scene in which the character, played by Aishwarya Rai, is shown smoking was merely a creative requirement for the script,” UTV Software communications limited has said in a letter to an anti-tobacco organization, quoting a spokesperson.

Earlier, NOTE had demanded the ‘smoking’ posters be deleted from the promotional campaign. In a written complaint, the organisation’s general secretary Shekhar Salkar had said that the display of the posters showing Aishwarya smoking could inspire her fans to take up the ‘cancer-stick’.

In Sagar Ballary’s Hum Tum Aur Shabana, Minissha participates in a Miss World pageant and to prepare for it, she is reportedly watching the videos of Ash’s Miss World victory diligently-to get the style, look and catwalk perfect.

The filmmakers, sources said, want the storyline to have similarities with the early life of Ash-when she was just entering showbiz. The scene will be shot soon at a huge set erected specially for the contest sequence.

Other than Minissha, fashionable and sexy models will be a part of the sequence, as well as Pia Trivedi who plays Minissha’s biggest competitor in the film show.

Bollywood gossip galleries still resonate with that hugely scandalous news earlier this decade when Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi got webbed in a real life love triangle eventually culminating into a life-long bitterness as relationships soured and got acidified for ever.
Since then, lot of water has flowed under the bridges. Aishwarya has moved on with her blissful marriage to Abhishek Bachchan (son of iconic Amitabh Bachchan). It’s no surprise that Vivek Oberoi’s ex flame Aishwarya Rai didn’t show up at the IIFA Awards 2010 as her father-in-law himself had sidelined the show owing to protests and turmoil despite him being the brand ambassador.
But when a certain Salman Khan spat sarcasm at Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwaray Rai Bachchan for not supporting the people in times of adversity, Vivek directly defended them even boldly taking their names.
Speaking to the reporters, Vivek went outspoken and said,
“You have to respect the fact that people have work for which they sometimes cannot turn up at events. It happens to each one of us. I know everyone wanted to see the Bachchan family in Colombo. They are being missed by the people of Sri Lanka as well as by everyone of us. Abhishek and Aishwarya have a film up for release and, trust me, there is a lot of work and stress during a release (of Raavan). So, give them a respite. I’m sure they would be missing being here too.”
