Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan have been on the forefront when it comes to exploiting their market appeal. The young Bachchan couple have publicly displayed their affection in the Lux commercial, ensuring a dual moolah!
However, this is not the only time that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was involved in a ‘couple’ deal. Even though her romance with Vivek Oberoi was short-lived, they did find time to shoot a Coke ad together.

Though Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor are, currently, ruling the B-town with right doses of glamour and talent, it is the veteran Aishwarya Rai who defeats them comprehensively when it comes to global popularity.

Unlike the likes of Kareena and Priyanka, Aishwarya is renowned worldwide (after all, she had won the coveted pageant at the Miss World). Aishwarya’s global supremacy also accounts from the fact that she has worked in a slew of crossover films like ‘Pink Panther 2’, ‘The Last Legion’, ‘Bride and Prejudice’ and so on.
Reportedly, a few foreign publishers are insisting Aishwarya to pen her autobiography. In fact, they are ready to pay out handsome fee to her. As per reports, she has also been approached with a blank cheque by a publisher itching to print her journey from her modelling days to her Bollywood crown.
Publishers are also eyeing that she dishes out her relationship tales in the autobiography. In fact, Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi controversies are significant parts of her life and would make her books fly off the shelf in a jiffy.
But then Aishwarya being a very private person is brooding over it. She hasn’t yet given her nod and even if she does so, it is highly unlikely that she would serve her readers a dose of her spicy romance. But the publishers can still keep their fingers crossed.

The co-producer of ” Guzaarish” has justified the controversial promotional posters of the film that show Aishwarya Rai smoking a cigarette, saying it is “a creative requirement of the script”.

A letter issued by UTV Software Communications Private Limited to the National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE), a tobacco vigilante organisation headquartered in Goa, has stated that Ash’s smoking act on the posters was necessary.

“The scene in which the character, played by Aishwarya Rai, is shown smoking was merely a creative requirement for the script,” UTV Software communications limited has said in a letter to an anti-tobacco organization, quoting a spokesperson.

Earlier, NOTE had demanded the ‘smoking’ posters be deleted from the promotional campaign. In a written complaint, the organisation’s general secretary Shekhar Salkar had said that the display of the posters showing Aishwarya smoking could inspire her fans to take up the ‘cancer-stick’.

“The innumerable posters and banners of ‘Guzaarish’ displayed all over Mumbai shows Bollywood icon Aishwarya Rai smoking a cigarette. There would be thousands of other scenes which could be displayed to convey the storyline of the film, yet the producer has chosen this particular one, quiet oblivious to its after-effect,” Salkar said, threatening the producer and actor of the film with a legal suit.

In a written response to NOTE’s caution, UTV has also said: “We understand that as a healthcare professional, it is your prerogative to oppose any activity that may promote smoking. However, whilst we appreciate your concern, we would also like to mention that the film `Guzaarish’ is not about smoking and neither does it promote smoking in any manner whatsoever”.

Reacting to UTV’s response, Salkar said: “I have seen the film myself. There is a single scene which shows smoking incident. But the poster of the film picks and chooses the same frame in their advertisement campaign. Actually this is clandestine advertisement of a tobacco product.

“Where is the issue of showing smoking scene when the movies speaks of euthanasia,” he added.

NOTE, has in the past made actors Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi among Bollywood biggies either shell out fines for their violations or dragged them to court for directly or indirectly promoting tobacco on the screen and off it.

Both Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif are the heart throbs of the male kingdom as both the women have the features to give the intoxicant men a real high. While Ash is pushing towards 40s (but still is replete with that magnetic hypnotism), Katrina is the current chocolaty flavour of the tinsel world.

However, only one has to be the winner, if we talk of the most kissable lips! Now, Aishwarya Rai has the face of a Greek Goddess, there is no doubt about her unearthly beauty. In fact, men from all corners of the planet have been vying for her for nearly 16 years. Her lips-red and luscious have often been desired by millions (including Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi). Has Minissha Lamba got the role of a lifetime? If rumours are to be believed Minissha will play the role of none other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a film! Well almost.

In Sagar Ballary’s Hum Tum Aur Shabana, Minissha participates in a Miss World pageant and to prepare for it, she is reportedly watching the videos of Ash’s Miss World victory diligently-to get the style, look and catwalk perfect.

The filmmakers, sources said, want the storyline to have similarities with the early life of Ash-when she was just entering showbiz. The scene will be shot soon at a huge set erected specially for the contest sequence.

Other than Minissha, fashionable and sexy models will be a part of the sequence, as well as Pia Trivedi who plays Minissha’s biggest competitor in the film show.

Minissha has already got her body in shape for the same and has been working on the outfits with her stylist. Well, we are still not sure if the movie will incorporate other aspects of Ash’s life-her romantic liaison with Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi and subsequent marriage to Abhishek Bachchan.

But Minissha is smiling from ear to ear, if not for the role then definitely for the fact that it is inspired by Ash. And that will be a talking point.

Bollywood gossip galleries still resonate with that hugely scandalous news earlier this decade when Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi got webbed in a real life love triangle eventually culminating into a life-long bitterness as relationships soured and got acidified for ever.
Since then, lot of water has flowed under the bridges. Aishwarya has moved on with her blissful marriage to Abhishek Bachchan (son of iconic Amitabh Bachchan). Vivek Oberoi had on-off flings with a slew of models and actresses and is now finally settling down with a business graduate Priyanka Alva, a South Indian gal. (Who thought that this flirter would subsequently tie the knot in an arranged marriage?)

Aishwarya Rai had a scandalous affair with actor Vivek Oberoi, whose public brawl with Salman Khan (and the 41 phone calls) still remain vividly etched in our minds. After that incident, Aishwarya left him and so did lady luck.
Since that image shattering incident, Vivek’s charm has eroded and he’s now struggling to find a foothold in the industry. Vivek, nevertheless, has been great with the girls. A self-confessed flirt, he has always basked in female company.

His latest tryst was with his Prince co-star Neeru Bajwa but Vivek had vehemently denied the rumours by citing, “That’s all rubbish. I’ve been linked up with 50 girls in last four years. And, looks like, his mother has hunted down the perfect bride. Reportedly, he is all set to tie the knot later this year with Priyanka (no no…….not Chopra) but with Priyanka Alva, a girl from Karnataka. It is touted to be an arranged marriage and, reportedly, scheduled for 29th October this year.
The duo shall get engaged in the 1st week of September, possibly on the date of Vivek’s birthday, 3rd September……..Wonder if Aishwarya and Salman would receive the wedding cards……

Aishwarya Rai was his past and Katrina Kaif is no longer his present. That’s Salman Khan for you- a man unlucky in love (as they say).
Salman painted the town red with his blistering romance with Miss World Aishwarya Rai nearly a decade back. So scorching was their romance that one couldn’t find a more hotter couple than the duo. In fact, Ash, too, was head over heels in love with him and shared her Tiffin with him on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, the maiden and perhaps their final film together.
However, a public brawl with Vivek Oberoi meant that Ash went away from both their lives and has now nestled down with hubby Abhishek. Meanwhile, Salman found a soul mate in Katrina Kaif, the current princess of popcorn. Katrina, mentored by Salman, slowly peaked to mega stardom and currently stands at the zenith of Bollywood. But again, as destiny would have it, Salman has broken up with Katrina (over issues unknown) after years of courting.
Thus, love betrays the poor bloke once again and just when speculations had begun surrounding his marriage to Katrina, his love villa came crashing down and Salman Khan stumbles and falls- yet again………..

It’s no surprise that Vivek Oberoi’s ex flame Aishwarya Rai didn’t show up at the IIFA Awards 2010 as her father-in-law himself had sidelined the show owing to protests and turmoil despite him being the brand ambassador.
But when a certain Salman Khan spat sarcasm at Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwaray Rai Bachchan for not supporting the people in times of adversity, Vivek directly defended them even boldly taking their names.
Speaking to the reporters, Vivek went outspoken and said,
“You have to respect the fact that people have work for which they sometimes cannot turn up at events. It happens to each one of us. I know everyone wanted to see the Bachchan family in Colombo. They are being missed by the people of Sri Lanka as well as by everyone of us. Abhishek and Aishwarya have a film up for release and, trust me, there is a lot of work and stress during a release (of Raavan). So, give them a respite. I’m sure they would be missing being here too.”

So, what prompted Vivek to go ahead and take such a strong stance for someone who has always cold shouldered him? People may call it a gimmick or a bold publicity stint (and it may very well be so) but more than that the likelihood points towards the theorem that he’s desperate to regain a warm cordial relationship with the biggies like Ash or Salman.
He has been trying to leave no stone unturned to salvage something out of his sinking career and, while I am typing this article out, he must be hoping that the Bachchan brigade do acknowledge and appreciate his gestures.
