Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi, who were once a much in love couple, got caught in an awkward face off during a recent award function.

The two were obviously trying to avoid each other, but there were moments when they couldn’t help facing each other.

While Vivek was giving bytes to the media and posing for the cameras, Ash and hubby Abhi arrived right there and then.

Aishwarya reportedly was at her diplomatic best, as she pretended that she hasn`t seen her ex lover boy at all.

Abhi and Ash kept sitting inside their car till Vivek finished and then went inside.Vivek, on the other hand, seemed to be rather pissed off. Although, poor actor had went in just then, but chose to leave the venue very soon.

After confessing to having erred many times in his personal and professional life in the past, actor Vivek Oberoi seems like a man on a mission to mend his fences.

Vivek is in a perpetual confessional mood nowadays. All his interviews are full of candid admissions of his past mistakes – the most prominent of which was that infamous press conference in which he humiliated Salman Khan , the then jilted lover of his then girlfriend Aishwarya Rai who is presently happily married to Abhishek Bachchan .

In a recent interview, Vivek had said he still feels “haunted by the demons of my past mistakes”. To get over these demons, Vivek has been making peace with people he has hurt.

He has apologized to Salman Khan publicly. Though Salman has yet not responded to Vivek’s gesture, Vivek thinks Salman will forgive him when he feels like doing it.

Mumbai, June 14: Mending the post-wedding fences, Abhi-Ash recently invited Ash’s ex-flame Viveik Oberoi for a midnight feast during IIFA weekend in Bangkok. The gorgeous Kareena Kapoor was also invited along with Viveik and the ‘Mission Istanbul’ team to the get-together.

Viveik was deeply saddened when Ash betrayed him, kicked him out of her life and tied the knot with Abhishek. Although Viveik has been trying hard to normalise the relationship, he could not do much to improve the terms. The actor would surely have been delighted with Ash’s call!

Not just for Viveik and Ash, the dinner also called for the Kapoor-Bachchan patch up. Abhishek and Kareena had almost stopped working together after the actor’s break up with Karisma Kapoor.

When the Bachchans look behind, they find that they had made a lot more foes than friends in the last couple of years and now they are trying their level best to dump their past and make more and more friends and carry only good memories forward. With this aim in view, they put a step forward of liaison. They invited Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi for a get-together in their room.

Abhishek and Kareena almost stopped working together after Abhishek’s breaks up with her sister Karishma Kapoor after engagement. The Kapoors still cannot forget this misfortune. And for Vivek, the case is almost the same. He was deeply disheartened when Ash kicked him out of her life and married Abhishek. Though Vivek tried to normalize the incident by attending Teja Bachchan’s funeral, still Ash’s betrayal pinches him inwardly.
